Garshét H. 25 F | Randallstown | Maryland UID: 290593 Unassigned Score: 10% Magnitude: | Hi. So the last feed that I interacted with was actually Instagram. And the reason why I was on it was for my job. I am a marketing and leasing assistant, so I do use Instagram through my job, but of course in my social life as well. It is the app that I use the most. This is my feed. Let me see. This is my feed right here, just to give you an example. I do wish that I used Instagram a little less. And I actually use it just because it seems like sometimes it can consume my day a lot. But when I looked at my screen time, I actually only used it about an hour a day, which doesn't seem like a lot, but then when you chalk it for the whole week, it's probably about 12 hours in total for the whole week, which takes a lot of time from your actual day. So yeah, I do wish that I used it less, but it's in my everyday routine, especially since I use it for work as well. | So when I look at my feed, it kind of depends. I'm not really sure what Instagram's algorithm is, because when I just-- I just sent it out. I refreshed it and it said-- it pulled another picture that was posted 47 minutes ago. And now, it's posting up a picture of what-- I'm refreshing now. That's posted three hours ago. So it's kind of just depends on the time that you refresh it, I guess. Some of my content is from old times that are posted a long time ago, and some is from new. I won't say that I'll see the same content over and over again. But I know that for Instagram, the algorithm is kind of messed up now because a lot of people have been complaining, including myself, that you don't see some of your regular followers on your feed anymore. It's a whole bunch of ads or some of the commercial people that you follow instead of your actual friend and stuff like that. So that's kind of annoying in a way. But yeah, that's my experience with it. | Okay. So the first three items or pieces of content that I see on my feed-- the first one is a giveaway. It's for natural hair products, which I am interested in, but I probably wouldn't enter the giveaway just because-- whatever reason. The second one is a sponsored ad for coloring your hair. It's like colored hair dye. I've never dyed my hair. Not sure why that's popping up. And the third one-- it's just like a Instagram famous girl. She has a lot of followers and stuff. So I would say, before I scroll down and see something that I'm interested in-- it's about the fifth one, which is just a funny video of this girl sledding down a slope. But other than that, sometimes I just meaninglessly scroll through Instagram until I do find something. I will say that most of the time I just watch Stories because sometimes when the feed-- like I said, the algorithm's messed up, so it's not something that I actually want to see. | Typically, when I see an item of content that I'm interested in, it's usually easy to grasp the message of the item. Most of the time, if I do want to investigate further, I would either go to the person's page, read the comments, watch their stories to see if they post any more information about it, but other than that, if it's something that's kind of easy, I usually click people's profiles anyway once I see something that I'm interested in. Probably just look at it for a little while and then X out and just keep scrolling, like if it's not something that I really want to engage in. Other than that, I would say it's pretty easy to grasp the idea of it and try to investigate further if I want to actually hit up the person or anything like that, so it's not hard at all. | All right. So the item of interest in my feed that I picked-- it's from the account Traveling Cocoa Girls. This is the video. It's a little hard to see, but I really enjoy her page. She just shows a lot of Black females traveling the world. There are different destinations. She gives travel tips, things like that. I always look at her feed every time she posts something. So yeah, that's the source. She's just a independent blogger. She supports Black women, Black people in general, in their travels to explore the world because a lot of us don't have those opportunities. I personally don't know the lady or anything, but I trust the content a lot because my cousin follows her and she's a travel-- what's the word? She's a travel consultant. So yeah, I trust the source a lot, and I would take any of her tips and definitely run with it. But that's my person. This is her feed. So yeah, lots of traveling tips. | I use the save feature on Instagram a lot, actually, just to go back and look at things, or save it for later to watch, or I know it's not useful to me right now, but I can definitely use it later on. This is actually my saved page right here, like I have different categories and folders for it, and I have all of these different helpful things. I definitely love that feature on Instagram, but the last post that I saved, it was actually a workout, an ab workout from this girl I follow, and it's very easy to find it because, like I said, I have my item folders and I label them what they are. I have ab workouts, makeup artists, decor, Instagram hacks, things like that, so yeah, it's really easy to find, and I definitely use that feature probably every single day. | I think that it's really to share items with people from my feed, especially if they already have Instagram. Sometimes, if I want to share some stuff to my parents who aren't really active on Instagram, it's a little difficult because you have to click the button and then copy the link, and then message it to them, like on text message, so that part, sometimes, is a little bit iffy, but as long as the other person has an Instagram, it's very easy to just direct message them to somebody's story, send a post, send one of my save feeds. Yeah, so it's really easy to do that, and I do it a lot. Actually, every day, I send funny things, DIY's, Reels, now, just anything, honestly, that I think somebody else would enjoy, so yeah, I definitely find it easy and I share people feeds a lot. | When viewing my feed, I guess the moment that I decide to leave it is when I'm just not seeing anything I'm interested in or I realize I just went to Instagram to be on Instagram. I'm avoiding some other assignment or task or whatever the case may be. So, once I get bored with it or I'm seeing the same type of content over and over again, that's when I leave. And I'll either just put my phone down and I get on social media or I'll go to a different app, maybe Twitter when it's not pictures. It's actually stuff you can read. What would cause me to leave the app or the feeds? Like I said, I guess just the fact I'm bored with it. Or to leave the feed internally? I'm not really sure. I'm not to leave the feed entirely. I'm not really sure what will make me do it. I guess Instagram just keeps adding unnecessary features and make them get an app, like the user-friendly environment to the younger audience and stuff like that. But yeah, that's my answer. | Once I find an item of interest, I would say for the most part, it's easy to engage more deeply with the content I find interesting. I think it just depends on the person who's posting it, because sometimes people don't tag where they got something from, or their source, or they don't have the link in the bio to give more information about it, to read an article, to visit the website. Usually, you can always comment on what people post so that is always an option, but it just depends on whether that person comments back, answers your questions. Definitely, I always share posts to people, like I said before, so that's always easy to do, but I definitely think it depends on the person and how deep they want their users to go into it, because I do come across posts that are like, "All right, oh, this is really nice," or I want to learn more about it, and nobody's tagged or there's no other information in their profile, so it's just kind of like a lost cause type of thing. | When I decide that I've seen enough content for a particular feed visit, I feel like most of the time, lately on Instagram, I haven't scrolled long enough. I kind of get bored with Instagram easily just because scrolling through pictures and pictures and pictures all the time kind of gets annoying especially if you're not seeing people that you actually know and that you follow and that you have actual relationships with in real life and you don't see those people come across your feed. You see the celebrities or sponsor ads or anything like that. So that's what kind of makes me get off of Instagram. So usually, it's kind of a short visit or, like I said, I'll watch people's stories because I know that those are people that I actually follow and I know them, so I can see what's going on in their lives. Usually, for the most part, after I stopped using Instagram, I can return to it. I would do what I was doing originally unless I go to a different app on my phone. But other than that, it's not a huge distraction for me. It's just kind of the me time. |
Erin D. 25 F | Queens | New York UID: 286049 Unassigned Score: 11% Magnitude: | The last news feed that I really interacted with at all would be Twitter, just because I'm on it a lot and I can easily access it on my phone. I like to look through the [inaudible] and that, but just the trending news. It was normally around here, but if you click the thing down here, it brings it up over here and you can scroll down and interact with these here. I like to look at all the news, since I have all the popular things, and just the hashtags that are trending right now. Obviously there's some that come up as promoted, but for the most part it's all the trending news on social media, and you can just click it and then scroll through and see all the other people that are tweeting at it too. And you can interact here, which I really like, to be able to see what other people are saying about it, not just from one news source. | [inaudible] for my feed for Twitter. You can see up here, it's where I can tweet anything. But all these things here have autorefresh. You kind of actually-- I don't know if you saw, but right when I hit play, it kind of glitched and refreshed automatically. So all of these tweets I have not seen. I haven't seen any of these. Like this Apple one up here for the credit card. This is an ad, but I haven't seen that ad. This from Business Insider, I haven't seen this, and this is obviously news about politics. And I haven't seen any of that yet. And I can just keep going on, and I haven't seen any of these tweets. So you can just see all the threads [inaudible] I haven't seen any of these, which is really helpful. So I can see all the new stuff and it's constantly refreshing to let me see the newest tweets. | Just refreshed my feed and the first three posts that I saw was, one, this is just a Retweet from a spam account that I follow, so it's not really relevant at all and I don't really like seeing it at the top of my feed. The second is an ad, which, as you can see [inaudible] ad. It's by SiriusXM. Which I don't really come here to look about SiriusXM, but obviously it's good to hear. I do have music and different musics saved as my [bookmarks for a link?], so it is kind of relevant to that. And the third Tweet is also another Retweet from a spam account. So recently, it looks like these are some spam, but it doesn't take long for me to scroll [past?] something to investigate. Like [I said here on?] the [Business Insider?], you can look and there's links here and you can go. | Do find a article or something that you do like, for example, [inaudible] article from Insider Life. It's talking about Meghan Markle. If you were interested in it, you could just click on it, and it'll just immediately open it up in the article [inaudible], so it doesn't take too long and immediately goes there for you. Or you could click directly on the link and [inaudible] you there, and then you could do the same thing. So it's pretty fast and easy to see what you are looking for. And then, obviously, if it's something more like this, you could just click on it and then easily back out. So no matter what, it's pretty simple and self-explanatory to be able to navigate if there's something that's really interesting to you and you wanted to learn more, even just like this video. Easy to navigate it. And just open it or close it if you need it. | One, not article, but one piece of information that was of interest for me is this Tweet right here from Jeff [Rhinehart?]. You can see it is verified. However, he's more of a local news reporter and he actually does sports reporting. It was of interest to me just because my siblings do play numerous sports. And I played sports [with?] high school and so he did cover me when I was in high school. However, he does not anymore, but it's really interesting to keep up with the news. He's really trustworthy because he's very unbiased and just goes to the games and reports and Tweets good content of the local news for sports and for high school athletics. So I really enjoy his Tweets and it really interested me when he popped up in my feed to see the new scores. | I definitely do save a bunch of things [and?] Tweets that I see in my feed since they are interesting and I want to look at them later or remind myself to look at them. One recent thing that I did save was from Apple since [they're very valid?] and [the device?] that I currently use. It's just them talking about their new Fitness+. Which if you didn't know, they have a new fitness app which you can use with your Apple Watch and your phone. Which you can take classes online and I favorited that so I could look at that later and possibly get it. | It definitely is really, really easy, also, to share things with anybody on Twitter if you are connected with them already. So for example, if there's this video-- there's an ad right now, but see. [music] This is a cute little video on how to take care of big penguins-- My name is Stephanie. --in an aquarium by BuzzFeedVideo. And say I really liked it and wanted to share it with somebody I was friends with. [See?] right there? If you just click down on the bottom-- if you see right there, you can click that. Oh, shoot. If you're on the tweet, you just click to share, send via direct message, and you can just pick whoever you want. So if I wanted to, right there, I could click [inaudible] or anybody, send it to somebody, and send it to anybody I wanted. | For the most part, if I were looking through my feed, normally, the point when I would leave the feed is if I got to a point where I just kept scrolling and I notice that I started seeing stuff that I saw from the last time that I'd already looked at before the previous day or the last time that I'd gone on that feed. Only then would I actually leave the feed. However, sometimes I will if I see there's a lot of stuff coming up where I'm just not in the mood to look at it or if there's something coming up where there's a lot of spam stuff like I said before [or?] there's a lot of spam Tweets or something like that. Then [I?] would actually exit out of the app and leave the feed. But for the most part, I won't do it until I've scrolled through and I could see all the new stuff for the time being. Unless there was a lengthy amount of new information for that time that I logged on. | If you find an item of interest-- so here, for example, I saw a thing for a fundraiser for the Texans and what's happening with the snow occurring in Florida right now-- not Florida, Texas right now. So it's from AOC and it goes on to have a link to support it. You can click on that link and it'll bring you up to that page automatically for her page to donate to Texas. If you wanted to donate, you could do that there. So if you saw it and you wanted to donate, you could just click on the link and donate. If you wanted to retweet it and share it so that other people could see it, you could do that. You could just simply like it. You could also share different ways. You could copy the link, you could send it via direct message, or you could just add it to share later. Not only that but on the app, you could share it to other places normally where there'll be a bigger menu to share it with other things. And you can also comment. You can see the other comments. And you can even go as far as. | So if I haven't gone on Twitter in a while, it is going to be pretty time-consuming just to catch up on the news, since I'm going to have a lot of new stuff in my feed. So it's going to feel like I'm going to be on here for too long, which would really seem like too much for me for one sitting on the feed. So the thing, though, is that if I were to just exit out or even just here, go on this other page and to pull up Twitter again, it would be completely new information. Well, obviously, not there, but if you keep going, it's going to already be new stuff, and that's already refreshing. Therefore, it's going to be pretty hard for me to save where I am, and it's going to be hard to catch up later on. That's one thing that would be pretty difficult to do, but for the most part, it can be pretty time-consuming just to scroll. And I do get to a point where I'll see new content and I'll exit the app if I have been on it more recently. So then I'll actually just see it, and then if I see that I've seen this already, then I'll just be like, "Oh, okay. This isn't new stuff." And then I'll just. |
Ellen P. 36 F | Scottsdale | Arizona UID: 253304 Unassigned Score: 2% Magnitude: | Okay. The last feed that I interacted with was a newsfeed on my iPhone. And so how often do I check this feed? I do check it every day usually multiple times a day. I have notifications set up, so whenever a story makes me want to click through, I click on it. But I do usually check it in the morning and sometimes when I'm bored throughout the day. I don't think I wish I checked it more or less. If I want to check it less, I turn off the notifications. I do like to be informed. Now, more than ever, with coronavirus I want to be informed. But I've always been someone who read the news. And the newsfeed on my phone is my preferred method, although I do check a couple other things as well. | When I first look at my feed, it depends how I check it. But if I open the actual app on news feed, then it usually updates itself. Sometimes it takes a second and I try to get new stories if I'm lucky. I've already read this one now. And then if I click through on a link for a story that I think is interesting, then it takes me right to that article, and then I usually exit and end up back in here. So since it kind of automatically populates new content, that's why I like it the best because I don't want to go to a main page when I check it more than once a day and see the same things I've already seen. Also I do like that it keeps updating the stories. And so that definitely is one of the main reasons why I like the Apple news feed the most. | Okay. So the first three things that I'm seeing right now are Biden authorizing supplies for Texas in the power outage, coronavirus cases fall in 44 states, and more information about Texas right now. So I am very interested in the President, what he's up to, and in the state of COVID cases, especially since I have a little baby. I'm always hopeful that they're going down. So those three definitely apply to me. I probably would read the Biden or the coronavirus one. I don't know if I would go and read about Texans without power. Directly, I kind of read the other news around that instead of just looking at kind of pictures and things of people who don't currently have power or water. And then the story about Ted Cruz going to Cancun is the other one that I see on here. It definitely met my goals for the feed because it's the most up-to-date. | So I definitely scroll until a headline catches my interest and I want to go into an article and read more. Either it's something I haven't read about yet, something I didn't know about, something that's interesting to me. Like I was reading earlier today about the COVID variants and how the vaccines that are currently out stand up against those new variants, whether they're effective against them because I'm definitely interested in that. And so that one, I actually went into the article, and I read more thoroughly. I also opened an article about Ted Cruz flying to Cancun, and it was very long, so I kind of read the first third of it and then moved on. But most of these headlines can pretty much explain pretty well. Sometimes the ones I click through on notifications are kind of clickbait, and they aren't really what they're about when I open the article. | So if I'm looking at my feed-- when I first set it up, I did choose both topics and specific news sources that I wanted to look at. So these are definitely more tailored to me, definitely more liberal than conservative, and then, there's also some kind of lifestyle recipe hacks and things like that. Yeah. So it's a mix of news from sources that I trust and then some other lifestyle things and also a little pop culture. I got people in here. And then they throw in other feeds, other news sources that are not necessarily ones I picked - Fox News, I didn't pick - things like that. And so there's kind of a mixture in here. And I do like to look at the source and kind of see how one-sided I feel it is. | I forgot even that there is a saving feature. I do remember I used to use it. Now if I'm interested in something, I mostly share it with other people. So to be honest, if I saved a story, I don't even currently know how to there, so I'm just clicking different things to see. I have no idea how to get to my saved items. But yeah, I actually use share a lot more than I use saving anything from my feed, or if I want to save it for myself, especially like a recipe or something I feel like I need to follow up on, I'll email it to myself. That's what I do the most. But saving, I don't really save, and I no longer remember how to even get to them. I'm looking. There's is like four things at the bottom. There's following. I don't even think I see saved anywhere. | Well, the one, I really do share things, especially with my husband or my best friend. Those are the people I most commonly share. So my husband and I have similar political views and we, obviously, live together. So we cook together. So those are kind of things I'll share with my husband. With my best friend, sometimes I'll share news, political articles. Also, she works as a rocket scientist. So I share a lot of things to do with space with her. And I usually share it by text. So I usually just click on the article and there's a button at the top where I can just click and I can share it either to text or to email, which I am doing right now. So I just clicked up here. And I'll text it to whoever I want to text it to. So text is my most common. And then sometimes I email articles to myself as well. | So I usually browse the news as a time filler. So if I feel like that's something I want to read about, learn more about, I'll click through. And then, it just depends on the article how much of it I'll read. Some articles, you click through on them and they're not really about what you think they're about or they don't even have that much content yet. They're just kind of-- it's kind of just a headline and still breaking news, so I'll move on. The ones that are super long, I'll start reading through and I don't know if I'll finish, and I might scroll to the bottom and decide I'm done. Just depends on if I fell like I've gotten the information that I was looking for once I clicked on the article. I just keep scrolling as I talk. I do like this trending story section. I always check it, the top four trending stories, or I might just get distracted by my child or work or, all of a sudden, I'm just off the article and it's time to go back. | So once I'm in an article, and let's just do this recipe article here from Epicurious, like maybe I'm in here and I want to read about these 11 easy recipes, I'll start scrolling through, and currently my husband and I are trying to do a low-carb diet, so I'll kind of see if these recipes relate, if I think any of them look delicious, and then it's pretty easy for me to text them to my husband or email them to myself. I'm in the article and the share button's here. As long as I'm scrolling, it's there. I have to get it back. Well, I have to go back to the top. Okay, it'll share. Yeah, so it's very, very easy to share the information and to also send it to myself. And to read the full article, just scroll up and down, and maybe I'll go through it quickly, maybe I'll go through it slowly and actually read and look at ingredients, but those features are super-easy. | How long I stay on and scroll has to do with a few things, whether there's updated information and the last time I was on-- how long it's been since the last time I was on. If I don't see-- I mean, if I don't see things in the top of this feed that I'm interested in looking at, then I'm done. I don't kind of go straight into any of the-- I could go straight into a specific news source. I don't really do that. I just believe that the feed is sending me the information that I want because I've customized it, so I never really investigate further. So if there's not things I want to see on this, if I've already kind of read all this - I know about all the items that are here - then I move on pretty quickly. If there's things I want to read, then I click through and I read through their articles. Then I go back again until I get back to the place where I last looked at my feed and I feel like I'm most up to date. So I usually know, when I scroll, where the last place I left off was. |
Fiona R M. 24 F | Seattle, Wa | Washington UID: 290929 Unassigned Score: 4% Magnitude: | Here is my feed. I really wish that I checked this a lot less I check it about every hour and I wish that I just had the ability to not try and check it all the time because it kind of is a waste of time and it's kind of useless like I don't need to text social me all the time. | So when I open Instagram, I usually see new content and content always up States about a couple seconds. So for example, here's this post by OSU Memorial Union. I follow OSU which is my school to get updates about certain things that aren't certain events going on certain updates on the school Instagram cuz it can keep showing me altering updates that I need to know. | So the first three items-- I just updated my Instagram right now. You see this post by Dutch Bros coffee. And then we have these stories. So one if from Danielle Carolan and Brooke [inaudible], which are influencers that I follow very closely. These meet my goal coming to Instagram because I'm a consumer of content, and it interests me, and the Dutch Bros, I consume their content, and I want to learn any coupons or incentives that they have. I don't have to scroll down very far to find something that's worth investigating. Sometimes, it's a couple posts, but sometimes it is the first post. | So for me, it is pretty easy to grasp the idea because, with the pictures, it gives an idea, and then the captions have more details. So it's pretty easy. It only takes 5 to 10 seconds to read through something or grasp an idea. But if I want to learn further, I can always go to their whole Instagram page, look through that, look through the comments, and it's pretty easy to investigate further about the page. | So an item that interests me is this post by Michelle Morgan. The source is her own Instagram page. It's not run by anybody else. It's her own. She is a person. She is an actress. I do trust this source because it is herself. It's not a computer. It's not another person. I'm seeing real life photos from her, captions from her name, and videos from her, so I know that it is her. | I rarely ever save things. I just don't really like to. It's not my thing. But if I do save something, I do not use the bookmark on Instagram. What I do is screenshot it and then it saves to my photos, and then I can send it to people if I want. I could do the bookmark but it's just too much of a hassle. It's a lot easier to do a screenshot, so that's what I do. | It is super easy to share photos. You just go to the little send triangle and send it to people. But sometimes, they don't follow the page that you are sending it from, and so they are not able to view it. So what I do, I go back to the screenshot, just do a screenshot, and then DM them that way. A lot of times, it's a hassle because, though I want to send them, it's like I have to do a screenshot or they may not even see the post. | So why I decide to leave a content page, I've gotten the new information from it. It doesn't take that long to get new information from it and I've got what I've needed, I got an update, and so I'm just going to leave it. I'm not going to spend all my time on it. To leave the whole feed Instagram, I would just say after viewing a couple posts, I kind of get tired of it. Maybe I'm starting to see older posts, and so I don't really want to see that and spend all my time on it, so I just view the newer content and then I decide to leave. | So once I find an item of interest like this [inaudible] post, I'm going to read the caption, get the full caption in because it interests me, and then I will most likely like. I rarely ever comment. Sometimes I do comment on people that are close to me, their posts, and I really want to interact with them, but rarely ever do I post on professional pages or corporation pages or influence pages because they already have so many comments. They don't need another comment. | So for my feed, I do feel like I scroll too long, because then I get to all the older posts, and then I just could have spent less time on viewing the feed. I think it's pretty easy to just get out of Instagram when I don't want to be there anymore. I just click out, but my mind, it's hard to surface back to what I was originally doing. If it was something academic, I have to refocus my mind because I was just focused on social media and it was a distraction. So it's kind of hard to get back into the swing of things. |
Joel S. 38 M | North Bergen | New Jersey UID: 257172 Unassigned Score: 8% Magnitude: | Hi there. So the last speed that I interacted with was on CNN and I'm just pulling it up here so you can see this is the feed for the camera and as I scroll down you can see their this is actually the top news section. So I checked this daily. I usually get notifications when there is any like freaking news anything that's trending so that kind of promise me to check the feed. It's something that I regularly do in the morning either way.And I wouldn't say that I wish that I checked it more. I think that checking it in the morning and then usually I check it out before bed too. So it's kind of something that I do in the beginning of the day and also throughout the day depending on what kind of you know, what's trending and you know any breaking news and things like that. | So in terms of whether or not the content is new or if I see a lot of the same content. I say usually see new content the app does update pretty regularly until does the speed of supposed to get for the top news section. So for instance, you know this latest article on actually the terrible stuff that's happening in Texas recently was posted an hour ago so you can see right now. It's almost 2 p.m. Eastern time. So and I did check it this morning and this article was not there. So I think that there is a good amount of new content you can kind of scroll and see I usually updates about I'd say maybe every hour or so, what's the new articles of sometimes even sooner depending on the day? and I'd say that my experience because of bad it becomes more pleasant because | Do the top the first three items or pieces of content or definitely top news politics and also health. So healthy, something new that I started looking into more special because of cool did and I feel overall I'm pretty satisfied with not only type of constant in here, but how often it does get updated the quality isn't usually take me long to find something quick on to investigate and again, it is something but that's usually, you know, really knew and had just been posted so it doesn't take me to score down long at all. I usually do end up happening on articles reading time and even watching video footage reporting or any types of summaries. I'm really into visual. So if I think all about us, | So I think that it's pretty easy together to kind of a Crocs of an article and assess interest level based on the title of the article or content that I'm reading the image of a video usually sums up and gives me interest. I'm so I definitely will interact with some of that information but usually I can get a good idea of the article terms of interest level just reading the first couple of sentences or even just skipping through the first couple of paragraphs for instance. So I do think that it is pretty easy to come to just scroll down and navigate some articles link to other articles. I do wish that maybe there would be more likeable thing throughout or maybe even like italicizing so I don't see as much of that but I think overall it is easy and the articles are in too long. | Someone article that interest me again and is in regards to Texas and how a lot of people remain out of power during that terrible winter storm. So Force again, this is the CNN app, but it's coming from some reporters like Manu Raju who I'm very familiar with he's a congress CNN correspondent really credible person.Along with some others and I stay in general. I do trust the content on here because it is Well written it's coming from multiple sources. It's not Canyon related. It's really based on facts and that's kind of wire. I really property towards the Stop and general is that I'm able to read articles not really based on opinion of the Marshall on factual information. | So saving articles this is not something that I do too often. Occasionally. I will if maybe I got interrupted and I want to go back and reference an article later on. She really easy to do that, which I like about the app. Is that every article you can quickly share. Or save to your feet deep suction and that includes videos as well. So there's a video or an article that maybe you want to just take a look at it later. It's really easy to do that. And there is a dedicated section in the app where you can access your saved videos or content. | It's incredibly easy to share items from this particular feed with people friends family co-workers except frog and part of it is every article has the share button a right next to the save button and you're able to share Via SMS social media. I get to send email you can even airdrop it so it's really easy to do that on my feet. | Some moments where I would the C decide to leave the content or the feed and why I'd say it's really about getting interrupted or perhaps right after finishing reading an article instead of hitting the back button and maybe searching for a new one. I got distracted or maybe I just, just leave the app because I have other things going on. There aren't really moments where I feel the need to leave unless perhaps I hope maybe I'm opening the app and I'm not seeing as much fresh content to let you know this hour. I looked at my top news and then I went back in today and then you know the first article I see I actually already distracted with an already rest. So that would maybe be an instance where I need the app for I could browse to maybe another section of the app, but that would be | So as I mentioned once I find an article or an item of interest in my feed like a video it's really easy to kind of just open it, you know by tapping on it and either reading it but the main controls that I really have are sharing and seething with which I do use I say those controls are found at the top of the page as he starts rolling down and they're they're very obvious in terms of their location and it's really easy to come at just scroll down occasionally. I guess the only issue that I may have at times is that some articles to have more ads than I would like and sometimes you do have to view a video when you tap on a video for instance and there is sometimes blacking there. Sometimes be too long so that would be my only negative. | So in these instances where I feel satisfied with how long I can gauge for continent and with my feed I usually feel like I've just explored just enough. I think what's helpful. Is that a lot of the Articles to have a timestamp. So once I start seeing older articles, I'll know that okay. I think I'm supposed to know it's time to move on maybe work since what I was doing and I usually feel fine about kind of, you know stopping and maybe you know putting the phone down or I'm going back to doing visiting another app. So no negative feelings are are felt there. Sometimes like to spend a lot of time reading inside just in Compton on this app, and I never feel like it was too much or too over-the-top. It's never a kind of a negative lead by |

I don't really find it difficult to share content. I don't really share content with other people on Twitter. Are you just retweeted are if I do with or without a little message? Death went on that difficult. And again, like I said before Twitter is always changing. So some content you may want to share and don't want it to mean not just depends on what you and your friends. | Breaks over speed is honestly when I get bored of it, or I know I have something to do which I always have something to do, but mostly when I get bored or I get annoyed at the content or I just want to do something different. Doesn't really impact the experience of a me checking my feed because sometimes it's nice to look at stuff again on us on my next visit. | The first three pieces of content I see on my feed during this visit or something from an Entertainer. I see an ad. And I see a status posted for my sister. What kind of meat my goal for coming to the feed especially the last one for my sister? I feel like I need to scroll just a little bit more before I see something I want to stop and investigate. | Stacy items of Interest how easy or difficult is it to graphs the message of item and move on its usually pretty easy if I say click on the post and just read what it says. The source is ABC13. So obviously a newscaster do I trust it? Yeah, because the newscaster is reporting on the weather as it's happening or it had happened and I do feel sorry aboutThe power being out in Texas, so I feel for them. | Yes, I do save things from my feed to look at later. Give it I will wait until the next day but I still will try to read all tweets of people that I'm following so I don't miss anything. I don't wish I checked it last. I don't think that I check in too much. I think it's a pretty good amount because if I'm doing something more important, then I won't check it. | When I first look at my feed, it usually brings me back to where I stopped unless I accidentally dragged down and which case it will refresh. I like that it brings me back to where I stopped because I don't want to miss any specific tweets. So I am always hoping that it will bring me back to where I last stopped. So yeah, I don't really have a concrete example because whatever the last tweet is that I read it will take me to that. I'll take me to tweet and that is create a positive experience for me so that I don't miss any tweets and I can just continue reading if it does happen to reset my accident. I'll scroll back to wherever I stopped. | Okay. So for example, I will go right now and see what I see. Once I open Twitter right now the first three things that I see and this is from 13 hours ago because that's the last time that I access this to me back to where I last saw I see you tweet from Adam Joseph. He was a weatherman. I'm talking about snow storm predictions. I see a tweet from a local media.I'm a local news reporter that I follow and I see a retweeted tweet about sports from someone. So the news and the weather I do care about the sports tweet I do so I would just keep scrolling. Until I find a tweet that I'm interested in and there's another one about the school district of Philadelphia, which is where I work and I'm definitely interested in that. | I feel but it's pretty easy to investigate items on Twitter tweets are short and so it's very easy to read them. And if I feel like I want to know more some tweets have links attached that I can click on or I can do some supper Googling about something that I see. So I really like Twitter's format because it delivers news to me in a quick and easy way and I am definitely able to investigate further if I feel that I want | Okay. So one example of a an item of interest on my Twitter feed is a WHYY article and it says city council Crest Philadelphia superintendent William Hite on issues of public hearing Wednesday on school reopening plans. So I am actually interesting to me because it directly affects me and WHYY is definitely our reputable news source. I noticed that. They do a lot of reporting And the reporter was actually there at the city council hearing. So that's how I know that I can definitely trust what the tweet and the subsequent article that I would probably | Show there are times where I save things for my Twitter feed to look out later. Like if there's an article that I see that I want to be able to dedicate more time to read I will click on a link and email it to myself and that's how I know that that's something I want to do later. I'm not sure that there is that actual feature to save a tweet to look at her later on Twitter. I don't use that. I don't remember the last article that I saved but I emailed to myself it was a while ago because I usually try to read the articles a moment, but if I'm not able to then I will as I said email myself a link to look back on later. | In my opinion, it's very easy to share items from my feed with other people. So if you want to hear here's an example of tweet, I was talking about before and then this button right here is a share button. So if I click it gives me an option to share this tweet with other Twitter accounts. It gives me an option to copy the link to send her a text message to an email to add to Instagram stories to put on Snapchat to share via WhatsApp Facebook Messenger telegram to book Market or I can click share via and it will give me some other options through my iPhone. So I feel like that's a really easy, but I definitely use a lot | So typically the reason that I will leave my Twitter feed is either if I'm out of time if I'm out of free time, I will scroll when I have free time when I'm bored or when I've caught up to the most recent tweet. So those are really the two times that I would but I would leave unless I get a phone call or there's something else pressing that I have to do. | Turn Twitter gives you a few options. Once you find something that you're interested in So reading full article and you can do that their links often embedded in tweets so I can click on a link if I'd like to read more about what I've read. I can favorite a tweet by clicking a heart button I can retweet so if it's something that I would like my followers to see values that feature and then that we will show up on my personal feed. I can also comment on that treat. And share that sweet as I showed before another thing you can do when you retweet you can just retweet the treat by itself, or you can retweet it with your own commentary above it as well. | It depends on how long I've been scrolling weather. I feel like I've been scrolling for too long or too short of a time sometimes before bed. I will be scrolling for an hour or because I'll have a lot to catch up on and sometimes I just have to stop because I'm too tired or I have something else to do easy for me to close out and do something else and then come back to it later because things are not disappearing and I'll still be able to see everything that I intended to see. |

It looks like this it song. filled with bike funny videos and just you know, like skin care stuff. And I would say I check it way too often. I will open this app and go right back in like it's really crazy. I will open this app clothes and go right back in. | so I would say sometimes we'll most times I do see like maybe two or three new post but overall not that many and I don't mind like looking at older post because sometimes there are older posts that I did not get a chance to see. But overall I would I wouldn't say it it affect or impact how I experienced my feed maybe because I'm used to it. I don't know. But yeah, I do get new stuff, but it's older stuff most of the times. | Okay, so I will show you the first three. Okay. So the first one is a me actually, so this is at the top of my feet. And it says me I have so many responsibilities also me and it has like a little picture. I would stop because I can relate and I know that's funny to me. This one is about acne educational. It has like more than one it tells you about at me. I would definitely stop because anything's skin care. I love. And then this one it says your childhood was never lived if you never did this with your squad again, I can relate so I would say, you know, definitely meet my goals or hopping line or whatever. | so whenever I see something that I don't get right away, it's fairly easy to get it because most times I was just go to like the comment section see what people are saying to try to understand what's going on and oppose sometimes I don't AMC Commons that really explain it that way and I'll go and I'll be like, okay, let me Google is so I don't think it's that hard to really investigate or like understand stuff like that. I don't get right away. so | Okay, so let's find something on the interest me. All right. So I'm going to talk about oh my gosh, I'm going to talk about this specific post. So it's about acne and it's supposed to be informational. different types of what cuz or like skin care regimen for acne. So I trust this because this was posted by a dermatologist. I have no reason not to doubt her she went to school for it. She's a professional she supposedly supposed to know more than I do. Yeah. Definitely definitely trust day like no doubt about it. | So I save I do say things are my from my page and it's very easy you click this thing like right here. And it's pretty easy to find them you go to your account and there's like a little tablet says saved post or is all so what I do is screenshot stuff. And I'll favorite it because I screenshot a lot of things. Sometimes it's not even about I don't know. I just do it, you know and very easy to find the last thing I saved would be disposed to like as you can see right there the little bookmark thing or I don't know if you saw that but like it has like a little bit more. Very easy to find them too. I guess Instagram makes it very easy, I guess. Not as easy what other apps I can tell you that much. | Okay, so it is I stirred things every day every single day and it's very easy. I'll show you how so this post I'm going to I'm going to show you how I share it you hit this button right there and it'll bring up like who you want to share it to. You know. Or what? What am I also do sometimes if I'm using my phone and you know, the I'll just screenshot it and send it if the person doesn't have Instagram or whatever. Very easy to send stuff like this so simple. Super easy if it's a video out screen record, but it's very easy. Like it's I don't know how it how else to put it like, it's just easy like you just know. | Okay, this question is I've never really liked thought about it before but when I usually leave is whenever I'm not seeing like I'm only seeing old content or the same things and I'm just like okay. This is just there's nothing else. There's no like I'm refreshing my feet and there no new posts. I'm just like, okay now it's time to leave. Now that's definitely something that makes me leave every single time whenever I'm refreshing and there's nothing else. I'm just like, okay. I'm tired of this. I'm tired of seeing the old the Same Old Post. Yeah. That's it. Just okay post same content tired of seeing it. Yep. | So for Instagram is it's not it's not like somewhere where you find particles, but I am willing to Google stuff that as how far I'm willing to go. 2 interact with something that I find very interesting. I will go I will Google stuff I will ask people and I won't stop until I'm able to that's how I am. and That's how far I'm willing to go like. Oh, no, I'll try to figure it out. But if I'm not getting it and I'm super interested and I really really want to like comment and share and stuff. I'll Google it or I'll contact support I'll do whatever I have to believe me. | So I am addicted. I think I sent this earlier but I am super addicted to like scrolling just like being on my phone. So I feel like whenever I Well, I never feel satisfied, but I do feel like I've been strolling too long and I do need a break. And what helps me is the the thing that iPhones have where you put like a time like a time limit on the app. That is what helps me or I'm just like, okay. Well now you need you've been on this for like an hour. You need to get off. You've seen enough. It's the same thing. It's not going anywhere. You can look at it later. That's that definitely helps me. I can tell you that much or I do both I try to move with her as I do try to multi-task also. |

I think I probably check it is whereYou know, I might be more in office that I am about the right amount. | Twitter looking at the feed. I definitely noticed that depending on what I'm looking at it. I haven't talked before about refresh rate and then how often does refresh but I'll say that even date a day it'll be things that I've seen already or things that I've searched for in bread that are still come up but I think that we're very very similar experience. Write an article I come back and it's there for the entire of the day. So, you know if I've done research on something about Tesla, I definitely had articles that I've already seen it already, you know, even maybe once I didn't interact with a couple days and I've seen over and over again. So I mean, it's fine if I haven't interacted with it, but if I feel like I've read about that type of content either in that specific article or throughYou. Maybe another another source. It's a little bit of a downgrade. I don't like this much see things again. | Do the first three items or pieces of content by see here? And it looks like we have mortgage rates. So definitely relevant to my search is now information about the Tesla models as well as Baisley gardening and vegetable growing articles and they're probably the most searched for items recently. So on that front if you like it it meets my goal as well as these are things that I'd be looking for. Anyways, if I were to be manually searching so really in those first three, I feel like that's a matter of how far do I need to go? Stop investigate? It would probably be in the first three again Mayfield most relevant to me. And I don't feel like I need to go further than all three of those. I'd probably end up clicking on. | Regarding specific pieces of content that go under my interest know when I see something that's interesting to me. It kind of meat of the body that can I get you a gist of what's going on. I feel like it's pretty easy for me to understand about something. I want to click on or not. If we want to investigate one of the items further again. It's pretty easy to learn how to further at least for me. That's kind of clicking on it. So you only vitamin reading some more or just reading I'm simply the blurb about what it is the content I'm going to be reading about this concern is really is. So I feel like it's pretty easy for me to understand it and move forward by clicking. | So we look at a specific item of Interest. OJ one of the first three results here. We have the the first result year was no mortgage rates currently from seeking sister is being Seeking Alpha definitely something that I click on frequently, but I take that information with green assault a lot of the things that it seems like they're not being pushed him Seeking Alpha or risky bets on the stock market. At least. That's how I see it. So definitely company that I kind of take the transformation with a grain of salt. I don't feel like they would be kind of a super well trusted Source or the law on anyting mortgage rates just fixed on my interaction with articles regarding the market the current state of it. So coming from anything that's shown to the actual list of items. I'm content but it's more just who it's coming from specifically. | So what it comes to actually saving something from my feed to look at later. I feel like my interaction with feet. I'm really not saving things something interest me enough time reading it. If I don't have time to more often, then I try to come back to the feed and it does have a future where your doesn't refresh at least within a certain time. Maybe 12 hours unless you instructed to do so a little but no come up that will say you don't have to update, you know, Justin Moore new and relevant articles. So that said most the time I'm able to come back within that time. And it still said in the feed. So that's kind of really how I managed to not having time to engage with tan tan. I'd like to see what I've seen it time for. I don't feel like this really any other way that I'm going at least through this to save in reference later any other way. | Play comes to sharing items from this feed with people and people that might share the same interest. I find it very easy at least going from the feed. It's kind of a a place that were able to you then quickly. Just simply share using the I wish I knew how to describe what the typical share button is. The three points with lines attaching them. Simply just doing that from from the article itself and I'm in and sending a link to it. So it in this way it it doesn't seem specifically that it has a capability rather than to just works the same but that's kind of how I had one that I wouldn't want there to be kind of a floating up a passport be able to share something simply using the sum function. So it's kind of how I'm able to share that simply sending an email or sending a text message with the content itself. So they can see the same article that I found interesting enough. It might also like | Don't let the mummy decide to leave a content and why more often than not it's just time I go through the things that I'd like to read it and I have to Simply get ready for the day in the mornings and I'm usually in riding with the content regarding things that would potentially cause me to leave the feed really if it's showing me items that I don't want to see for example, you know just a month or so ago when we had those tumultuous times in DC definitely had no search sports he was going on but it felt like I was getting a lot of results on that. No, I definitely was able to say I don't want to see this is relevant to me because it was just kind of really tough to see I forgot what happened. So really, you know, if I were to say I don't want to see this and I'm still seeing results regarding Savannah want to see that would definitely push me away from from using that feed and then leaving the feed. | Once I find an item of interest and want to engage more deeply discuss the extent to which you were able to find and use controls some more often than not at least with the feed time using I might not be signed up for all the different sources. No, I definitely interact with specific sources of information because I trust them and I like the content in general definitely will share articles more off. Then I will come in on them very few sites. Do I have myself registered to make comments, but I feel like it's pretty easy for me to kind of dive in between sharing and reading the full article. That's mostly how I interact. I'm not someone who likes to get it in deep discussions with I guess I was just a stranger. I'd rather do this with individuals that I know and care about their opinion and know them personally for that reason. It's more important to me that you understand the article and then and then share it on that front. | Point when I've seen enough content satisfy the feed visit more often than not it's it's because I've strolled too long. It's it's not that I'm running into something that's turning me off. I'm going to look at it anymore more often than not it's just I've been enough time and I'm bored with my day. So I feel like I have a fairly good grasp on continue where to stop and what caused the claim able to return me. If I'm running short on time again, I've had talked about before returning back to that same feed without refreshing results in a certain amount of time. I'm able to come do that something sparked my interest if it's kind of just generally there. I know it's there and I can check that for you a couple times a day. Even if I don't refresh just to refer back to an article or something like that. So that's pretty much how I would go about using the feeding and cut off time. |
Jessie R. 30 F | Fillmore | California UID: 288113 Unassigned Score: 3% Magnitude: | So I typically Circle between the economist Business Insider and Forbes. I love that they combined pop culture. Business and political issues together in their articles and they I feel like the appeal to a younger audience. They make their articles really interesting to look at speakers stay on them a lot longer. I don't look at these as often anymore because I just kind of come by and being on my laptop with work and I just it's too much work for too much brain power after like you're tired after a long day. I love looking at Beau gets kind of break from you know, working your brain so much. Visually appealing Spencer Runway classy stuff, which is really cool to look at and I'm super girly so I love looking at it. | So for the economist Business Insider and forth, I typically see the same information on each of them just ran by like different people. What's annoying about them as I do see the same the same information just like where did differently or like they updated cuz they have new information or whatever but you typically see the same type of stuff even though they do have so many articles I could stress and listen and listen that you just kind of get looped in there and at some point it just kind ofAll like meshes together. When I'm on Vogue, I can't I can't get off of it. There's just so many nice things to look at. Yeah, but work is fine. It's Forbes and Business Insider. It just it's kind of overwhelming at times. | When it comes to Vogue they do really well with like catching your eye there. So many things to look at it's less about the Articles themselves and more about just the pictures. I hate Forbes and how they don't have this little navigation bar up here and you can't really like I mean, it's just it's not the first thing you look at, you know, where is like Business Insider they have it. They have it at the top. Where is that's where I typically go but they don't like they don't make it appealing in the same way that like The Economist as it. I love that like my eyes don't go straight down or to the little words, but your eyes kind of do this and then you go. I don't know just keep the kind of interesting. I'll look at like the keywords that like catch my eye like NASA alien. I'll do it kind of that way. or just go to the | So when it comes to Business Insider Forbes and The Economist, you kind of already have to know business terms in marketing terms. In order for you to kind of understand what they're saying. I think what draws me to an article is like I said, like there's key words, like alien and NASA like those kind of pop out at me ET there a lot more entertaining than will schools reopen like it's it's not as entertaining for me unless I'm like actively looking for something about like the economy or the president like it depends on if I'm looking for something or I'm just browsing Forbes. It's not about the articles for me. It's more about like the pictures and looking for inspiration and stuff. But yeah. | I'm going to look at the alien article that I was looking at earlier. It's by 1843 magazine never really heard of them by Oscar Schwartz. It was recent. So that's good. As far as it being like a credible Source, it's like trustworthy. I feel like anyting on the economist because it's Business Insider Forbes and The Economist. I trust whatever they put on the right side cuz I'm assuming that the kind of double check to make sure that it's something that you know, they want to be representing. Not have it tarnish, you know other their brand. | So, I don't know if you're subscribed to these websites if they'll allow you to save. Pain or something. I've never really saved a page unless it was En Vogue. I'll take pictures of like the outfits that I really like and you know, I'm kind of like a Pinterest in my phone. But as far as like these websites Forbes Business Insider and The Economist, I typically don't I just kind of taking the knowledge that they're giving me. I will write notes in my notes app if I find something interesting. But if not, yeah, I just don't save things. I don't know why. | So I've never actually shared anything with anybody. If I did I'd probably just screenshot or not screenshot take a picture of like the title cuz I feel like most of the time I kind of tells you. What's going on? I guess you would go like over here and like I would email it to somebody but I just don't do that. I guess. Yeah, I've never really sent anything to anybody. I typically just it's like conversation. Like I'll bring it up in a conversation like of something that I read. I don't even even know where you would go to like send something something I do. Yeah that gives you those options. I just don't do it. | So for me if the paragraphs are a little too wordy and too big like isn't that supposed to be like a mini synopsis? But instead it's like just this massive almost a paragraph in itself for this one. Outlook that's it's just catches your attention right here the picture also catches your attention. the title super short very understandable I loved these look it's just super short text is big enough to you know, not tiny enough to where it's like exhausting to read but keeps it short simple sweet if it's too long and not about the topic that I thought it would be then I just kind of Click out. | So like I said before there are sharing capabilities over here. Let's see if I can. Yeah, I can know more about the author never tried that before. Visit in Center homepage. There's like these links that will take you. I don't know what it took me to never really tried. I really like that. I mean you had some pictures but this one has a video in it somewhere but a video you can play just really cool. I've never really seen that in an article before. Yeah, I can't like I don't understand how else I would interact with it, but that's kind of the extent to which I would interact with nautical. | So for me, typically when it comes to Business Insider, the Economist, and Forbes, I don't spend too much time on there because it uses up your brain. And when I'm looking, I'm looking typically either for a school article that I need or to kind of catch up on things. And I think at some point, the news and everything that's going on, because it's mostly negative, I think it's just kind of a lot of stress on your mind, so I don't spend too much time. I think it'd be really cool if it kind of checked off which articles you've already read and which ones you liked and which ones you didn't and give you more of the ones you liked. As far as Vogue, I can't get off of it. |
Hannah B. 31 F | St. Louis | Missouri UID: 67835 Unassigned Score: 2% Magnitude: | The last feed I interactive this Instagram you can see here. I am totally an addict of Instagram. That's not good. I think that I check it like at least once an hour just at work mindlessly walking around the house. I do wish that I checked it a little bit less. I need to be better about how much time I spend on. My devices Instagram is awesome to me because it's like visually appealing but it can also be a little bit of a thief of Joy because Instagram won't you know as we know only percent the best mood polish parts of people's lives. So then we look at it and compare ourselves to what is truly an illusion. So for that reason I do wish I checked it a little less. I don't think I'll ever totally cut out of my life, but you know just so much nice fun content keeping up with friends and Brands and very good dogs as you see here, so I still like | So I think this is a universal experience. But every time I refresh my feed its new content, it seems like Instagram is always refreshing and I think it does that on purpose so that we have to see I mean like new content. I mean that doesn't pack my experience because I'm more likely to to open it up and You know keep checking it over and over because every time I check it at something new where is like a Twitter that goes in chronological order I check a little bit last because it's not changing all the time. You know what I mean? It's the same thing. So if no one has tweeted anything new nothing you will show up. Where is Instagram is an algorithm base. I think instead of chronological so that that impacts may experience, you know, what keeps me coming back and I'm certain that was no accident and that it was designed that way. So yeah, that's how it affects my experience and how it impacts my usage of of the app. | Okay. So the first three things I see in this visitar a video of my friend playing in the snow. a sponsored ad from Williams-Sonoma animeme from an advertising account. I follow that makes fun of things that it like artists think are funny. Those are fine. Like obviously the sponsor dad isn't the reason I come to Instagram although I like to see them sometimes because they're aspirational and their lifestyle but there's quite a bit of like memes and sponsored ads right now. My timeline it's taken me quite a bit to find something. I want to stop and look at which will probably be something from a friend. So I still haven't so scrolling. I still haven't seen a friend. It's just I think I follow too many like me and then joke accounts, so it gets me my Losi scrolling, but I would prefer to see more from friends and family and from people I know in real life than from ads and those other kind of accounts that I follow. | So once I see an item of interest on Instagram, it's very easy to grasp this message of the item and move on since Instagram is a visual platform if a post is done while which most are it's a quick. It's really visual it sunny in the image does most of the talking and then the caption might add a little bit of color but I think that's part of the reason that I scroll this so often is that every single post is like a contained story Message In and of itself. It's also easy to investigate the item further. It's got a really intuitive user interface in my opinion. It's as simple as clicking any of the links to take you back to the posters original profile. It's as easy as clicking a hashtag to take you to have a curated collection of mother posted a hashtag. I think of all of the platforms. This is probably the most intuitive and that's you know, probably reason why it's so widely used | So I stopped and looked at this post which if you can see is is very colorful and pretty and it has food and I stopped because it was visually enticing and I was curious what the brand was at. The brand called simple meals that I've never heard of before so I can't really speak to trusting her too trusting the content and media is a sponsored post. So it's obviously staged to enhance. So like there's an element of distrust that goes along with that with understanding that advertisements can be a little bit of misleading but like I was saying it's easy to use Instagram, so just clicking on it.Gives you a little bit more information about the company and if I wanted to investigate further and make a better judgment call if I trust the content, the link is in the bio. So I don't know the way that it set up makes me feel like this is a legitimate trustworthy company because this is well put together feed. So I guess that's why I trust the content and I don't fight it be a scam or anything like that. | So I actually Austin safe things for my feet to look at I mostly save recipes outfits. I like or like will work out tips. It's pretty easy to say stuff actually did one this morning. I follow some Fitness accounts and it was like a quick no equipment cardio. I thought maybe I'll do this one day. It's really easy to save you just hit this little button in the corner. And then when you want to find your saved stuff, I mean it could be either they put it the very top of your bar. So I mean, I guess it's a little harder to find it once you're in there so they added a feature that allows you to categorize it. So like this is working and this is like other stuff. So, I don't know. I think it's in line with Instagram's great interface. It's it's probably easier to find favorite things here than anywhere else. I mean, it's a nightmare on Facebook in my opinion. So they got it figured out. It's a good reason to come back for content and check it out again and again, | This is an interesting question. It is not that easy to share items from my feet with people who might enjoy it because a lot of pages make themselves private. I don't know why I especially like memes and jokes and the kind of things I want to send to my friends. So then my friend has to be following that page to to see the content that's weird to me because if you're a public-facing page that wants likes and Views, why would you be private and I'm sure there's like privacy and censorship issues at play but it is really inconvenient when you send somebody something and they reply back and they said can't see it. Don't follow that account. So I'm when that happens. We just screenshot stuff. But you know when Instagram release the future that you could send things to people we thought it would make it a lot easier usually is the give it like a six out of ten for usability just because like what ends up happening as you follow a bunch of pages so that you can see things and then you end up with a cluttered feed like I have right now. | There's a lot of reasons I leave the feed like sometimes they're due to the things I'm doing, you know in real life like a scroll Instagram before call. And then if the car starts I put my phone down sometimes I realize that like I've been doing it for too long and that causes me to stop. Sometimes I simply get bored and want to try out a different feed it kind of depends on what's going on. I'd say the number one reason is that I try I'm trying to regulate how much time I spend on its own after I seen a fair amount of content and I realize that I'm scrolling just a scroll and I not even taking it in anymore. I'm pretty good about like putting my phone down at that point. So it's not the fat content ever turns me off to it. It's just simply the time spent and the fact that there are other things to be doing whether that's viewing other feeds or like in real life things. So that's why I stopped doing my feet and then we've come | So once I find an item of interest in my feet and I won't engage more deeply it's easy to do so. Usually I will stay like commenting sharing all of that is easy liking one flaw. I think the probably exists for a reason is that when it's a full article, they don't have the availability to put the link in the car in the caption. So you have to go to the link in the bio which is kind of a pain in the butt all say so commenting sharing tagging people super easy, but with Instagram not allowing URLs to be captions. It is a little harder when content hubs are sharing stuff and I want to read the full article like BuzzFeed for example have to go to the link in the bio which directs you to a microsite which has all the Articles you can read. It's just an extra unnecessary step and I guess it exists because Instagram wants to keep people in that but it's definitely an AUX plug in my opinion. | I feel like we touched on this a little bit in the previous question, but definitely will reiterate their reaches a point when I'm like, oh my gosh, how long have I been doing this and at that point? It's pretty easy for me to stop by feed visit and return to what I was originally doing because it's kind of a quick realization of oh crap. I've been on here for her. And like I said, it's never the fault of the content is just eventually, you know, a little voice in my head says you've been on this feed long enough stop return to what you were doing. So it's really easy, you know, it's kind of mindless some ways scrolling so I had to have to work on being more mindful about it because if you don't pay attention to you really can't end up spending a lot of time scrolling feeds endlessly and Instagram should be for enjoyment not just you know, like Mindless killing time. So I learned how to do it realistically quickly, which is a good thing I believe. |
Sarah Z. 26 F | Kent | Ohio UID: 292017 Unassigned Score: 2% Magnitude: | Hi, what was the last speed open that feed and shutter? How often do you defeat that I left out your so? Just so I'm just going to like quickly show. So I was looking for my Facebook and looking at everything. Yeah, that was my last baby. How often do you check the speed today? I wish I checked it more are not as much I'm just I check in whenever I have time, you know what I'm saying? | It's a pain. It's a pain. Sometimes it's new. Sometimes it sold. It really depends on what day it is what I'm doing. Sometimes if I shock it like like 5 minutes or like 20 minutes later, it won't they do but like if I check it tomorrow there might be one or two. You are a petition to buy new my see that I didn't realize you were there earlier. It makes it feel like it's so it's more personal and it's more. And it's much more when I'm getting a new seed now so makes me very happy to get on my feet. I hope. | I would have to look at my feet to tell you the first thing that I signed on my Facebook. He let me just go home is a quote by RuPaul Drag Race. We're both were lucky radar on Friday. I look RuPaul's Drag Race is my favorite show. Next is taking so much everybody. I didn't expect to get this must've just one of my friends. He did a fundraiser and relax.I I slept through. It depends on the day most Mayans. I love looking at anything. So yeah. | Let's find something and I didn't talk about for you a picture for no reason. But oh, I love that tennis. It's super easy to press to see so for that photo in particular. It was a picture of a dog that was really easy for me to grasp and most things are easy. Sometimes I just scroll through likeTurn to page 394. Today one of Miami cuz we talked about lgbtq patient in the patient isn't talking taking anyone find a different route. That's so smart. And so powerful. | Monster Hunter and it's friends celebrities birthdays for girls that I am. Like if it's like just a funny hahaha, I trust it and I guess I guess it depends on what it is what I know about the material, of course, there's going to be fake news, but I feel like I trust my friends enough not to post things that are not true. I guess it's my opinion on that would be kind of weird for people to post things that they don't believe in or that are not true. But if my friends posts something that I don't believe is true. I kind of just think about what I believe in compared to what they believe in. It's like I don't like loose threads. | I do occasionally. I save photos of food recipes that I really enjoyed. but mostly it depends on what it is I guess is the best answer I can give you a depends on what it is. The last thing I say is actually was arrested for something from you know, I love to cuss and I'm just got into Miami my recipes. Greg weeks in advance Now I'm going to eat lunch in a couple minutes. I mean theater. It's just doing things like make the food recipes that are always on my brain, you know. | It's super easy. I don't know maybe my boyfriend does it depends on what it is? You know, it depends on who what I'm talking about and he'll I want the audience to be I'm sorry. I bet my lip. I have a really dry what certain now? and I thought I'd treated them, but apparently I did not but I I would hope people who enjoy my contacts are my friend, you know. I hope people who enjoy that contact I know. Because I don't want people who enter my content that I don't know if that makes any sense. I feel like that. it's super weird when people don't have | it depends if I don't agree with something and they're being any type of insensitive to people or if they're just not really adding anything interesting to what they're saying or telling people. I don't really admire bulliest I think bowling people is my least favorite. My China at Ina and kind of Benjamin set if you bully other people, you're not a friend of mine. I take bullying pretty seriously and it doesn't even have to be like a person like a fry. It could be like if you bully is celebrity or if you're racist is that one? I don't really take no bulshit when it comes to that, but I guess it | So it depends. If I find something on my feed that I find really interesting, I'll look up more information about it. I'll Google it. I'll look read the article or reread the article. If it's a video, I'll save the video. If I really like something or if I really will use something, I will do more research upon it. I'll learn much more about it than what I would have if I didn't like it per se, if that makes any sense. I would look at it more, in detail. So I hope that answers that question. I would look more towards it. And sorry, I'm - my boyfriend left today - I'm sorry. I'm sorry. | I am just dumb because I get bored of just searching for things. I guess if you're just searching for things. You get bored after a while. I feel like at 4. star versus You know. Everybody gets bored of things. It's really easily easy to get for. You know. It's really easy to get for insects. |
Josh W. 25 M | Pittsford | New York UID: 287404 Unassigned Score: 3% Magnitude: | So at this is the last feed I've been tracked it on my Instagram account. I definitely go on it probably more than a few times a day. Probably a couple dozen times. Even if it's not for a very long time, even if it's just a few minutes, I definitely wish I went on at last I go back and forth between just deleting my Instagram app and then I re-downloaded few days later. It doesn't necessarily interfere with my life. But even if I'm bored, do you know open up Instagram in one of my classes or something when I should be paying attention? So yeah, I definitely wish I would not go on Instagram as much. | For me Outta Compton icing on my feet has definitely a mix between new and old stuff. I mean unless I'm going on the app like 2 minutes after I close it if I if I refresh things I normally see something new at least a few new things before I start getting back into like seeing old things. For example, like when I open the shop now, it's you know, if there's a there's a few things I haven't seen before but I'm especially with sports highlights at Tennessee like the same three or four plays from like the last football or basketball game like over and over again, even if it was posted a few days ago. Like even like this video. I've seen this one a few times from the same account, even though it was posted over a day ago so mean, it really just depends but it it's not fun seeing the same videos over and over again definitely like I won't stand the app the second I start seeing things that I've already seen again. | So are the first three things I saw on my feet were just three videos seems like they're supposed to be like funny videos or just interesting there seven seconds 12 seconds, and I'm about 5 Seconds why I guess usually when I go in Instagram, I'm not doing too much of a cheap. So, I mean sometimes I watch videos all the way through sometimes not that they probably mostly not unless there's something that like really catches my attention in this case. It wasn't maybe anything that interesting so I would probably keep scrolling. Usually. I just kind of my list I scroll through my feed for a few minutes then close the app. I don't like pay too much attention to something again unless it's like really actually something that I care about. So I'll I play tennis so for me, like if I see like a really important, you know, Australian Open match, I might stop in like read the stats on something like that, but even and sometimes I want | Certific weed once I see something I'm interested in it going to be pretty easy to grasp the message of it. And then I'll just keep moving on seems like a lot of accounts especially bigger accounts that typically postings. I'm interested in like they they keep their pictures or videos very like straightforward like right to the point. There's not maybe like a lot of fluff for anything. So like again in an example like a tennis match, like they'll have the most important stats posted right on the picture and like maybe like more advanced stats like in the first sentence or two of the description. So something like that. It's it's it's not that hard to learn about things and even if there is no link to like full match stats are you know, just some other cause if it's like a different kind of Instagram account, you can always just Google thinks I'm really that interested but most of the time it's it's pretty easy to get a handle on things. | I'm so want to come today. I just saw on my feet that was kind of interesting basically like this personal trainer that uses I don't want to say I like alternative methods of training but it died I guess so he's just like a slightly as a slightly different method of training for sports specifically and I guess the the sources ultimately science but I guess most directly just has his Instagram account and the other studies Betty links do on his website. So I'm at a generally I would distress these kinds of things but after doing some research on it like in the last few days, I do generally trust like what I see in the post, but that's kind of the exception to the rule normally if I like see something with a lot of training or like politics or something. I generally will try to like track jacket before I trust it. | So at this is actually something frustrates me a little bit. I guess I save a lot of things from my feet to look at later on like with the like little bookmark tab on Instagram in the bottom right corner. The last thing I probably saved it probably was like some sports highlighter or something like that. It's it's very easy to find things that I say this but I actually never find myself going back to like look at those things later. I just keeps growing each time. I open up the account. There's it's you know, I'd like I always think I'm going to go back and look at something later, but I generally never do so. Yeah, but that's pretty much that. | I'm on Instagram. It's it's really easy to like to share things from my feet with people. You cannot like press like the little things like an airplane icon or something where you can just direct message video or picture something like that to one person in a group of people like or even just like a group chat like that was already established on it's really easy. It sends them the video. I guess my one pet peeve is that if you send something to someone that's from like a private account and they don't follow it then, you know, like they'll have to follow that person and then look at the I like the content that I shared with them. But overall it's it's very easy to share things. You can in some cases just click 2 buttons, even the person that you send things the most to like, they'll be the first person that you can like click on those be at the top of the list. So if you have been sending them a lot of things you can just click 2 buttons and send it to them. | Charming it usually depends I'd say one reason for sure is just something externally going on. So I mean, you know if I am in class or you know, if I'm liked on Instagram, but I'm not supposed to be like sometimes I'll just stop cuz I know I need to move on but assuming I have all the time in the world. Just scroll through my feet. It's usually when I've seen two or three things in a row that just I've already seen that day or even just a few hours ago. That's it's not like super frustrating per se but it's kind of like you just run out of content to look at that time. So at that point I'll just I'll just be even and go do something else. But yeah. | Yes set alarm for me at least an Instagram. There's seems like actually really a lot of ways you can like learn more if you you know, it's just like one post and description isn't enough for you on a lot of posts have like links in their in their account bio or they'll post something on their story or maybe even just think it in their own description. There's there's a lot of different ways you can kind of access more information or savelli's Google searching things. But if it's even if you're just staying within the app, you can usually learn a little bit more at least what you want maybe not as much as you want though, but besides learning more about it, there's you can also engage in the post engage with the post in a lot of ways whether it is just like in, danger or sharing I guess I don't feel limited even if I don't always choose to like comment or share it with people. | Even if this seems a bit contradictory on when I'm on Instagram and I'm stopping I usually feel like I've seen more than enough, but then also just because it's very thick Ting app and I've been using it for a while. I always feel like I should be doing more things at the same time. So it's kind of that that contradiction but I guess overall. Yeah, I usually feel like I over scroll rather than under scroll because there's never you can always be doing something better than probably being on Instagram terms of my ability to stop being my feet again. It's kind of a cycle, you know, sometimes I'll delete the app and use it for a month, but then some days I'll be on it when I should be in class or just doing basically anything else, but after I'm on it usually I'd say I can return to whenever I'm doing with you no decent Focus. |
Lauren M. 39 F | Vancouver | Washington UID: 81455 Unassigned Score: 1% Magnitude: | The feet that I checked most often is Instagram, I probably check this for five times a day just as a something to eat. You don't pass a few minutes if I'm waiting for something or just as a little mental vacation for a few minutes during the day when I'm working. I would prefer to check it last there's really nothing that I gained from, you know looking at my Instagram feed other than entertainment, but it's pretty mindless entertainment. So I wish I checked it last and it's something a little bit more productive with that time. But ultimately it is a good little mental break and that's why I do it. | And it really depends if the content is New or Old based on how recently I looked at my feet. So if it's something like I was just scrolling maybe 10 or 15 minutes ago, and then I open it back up again. It will at some point reached the old content again and sometimes Instagram, we'll try to make it appear like it's new content by if there's you know, like three pictures attached to this they'll show the second one with the same caption. So don't make it almost looks like new content, but it's not it's it's the same post just with a different photo in the first edition. So usually when I run into Old content in the feed, it becomes boring pretty quickly and I'll typically close out the app and do something else to pass the time because I realized I've kind of reached the end of the new stuff. | The first three items I see you when I come to my feed is a post from a friend and then a post from sort of a personal finance influencer that I follow So within the first three pieces of content, I I kind of pay attention to all three of them more. So this third one just because it's a, you know content creator that I find their stuff interesting and this sort of informational but an educational but kind of fun and easy to digest information is primarily why I come to Instagram So within the first three pieces of content, one of them is something that I'm interested in enough to read the full caption and then go back and scroll through the images just to see what it's all about. | All right, when I find a piece of content that interest me. You know, I read the caption. Bandit I look at the image. Let's go to the next one. I don't normally do this on desktop. So there that's how you do it. Yeah, it's very simple to figure out what it says. Maybe I don't quite understand this question, but it's easy to read and grass the theme from there. | All right. So looking at this piece of content as the example, how much do I trust the source? And this is a personal finance Instagram content creator who I follow for quite a while. They have a lot of really interesting and relevant content. I don't know them personally. However, I very much trust them as an expert in their field based on. the quality of the information they've shared in the past and I've been able to sort of cross reference other sources to determine that they do actually know what they're talking about and You know, I have a lot of confidence in this content creator. Because the information they share is consistent with other experts in the field. | Do occasionally save content to refer back to later most often. It is recipes. So any of the content creators that I follow the create a meal prep ideas and recipes. I will often collect to save it so I can refer back to it later when I'm cooking a meal so I know this button right here. I actually thought it was here, but it doesn't do anything like it does on mobile. So I'm not sure. I don't know if it just doesn't work on desktop. So then to get back to it. I would click there within my profile and it brings me to my saved content. | It is extremely easy to share content from my feed with people. I will cook the little airplane thing and I can share it directly to a person who's on Instagram from here. Let's see. Looks like that's the only option if there was something some piece of content. I wanted to share with someone who doesn't have Instagram. I can't remember if there is an option to do that on mobile. That's not available here on desktop. I feel like I've done that before. Otherwise, I guess I would just have to take a screenshot of this and send it via text message that I wanted to send it to somebody who isn't on Instagram and I still wanted to share the content with them. So that would be I guess the only downside of the share feature here is not being able to send it via text message or email. | All right, when I decide to leave the feed is when I have other things I need to do. So this is just a kind of momentary Escape thing for me. So it's something else draws my attention then. That's when I typically leave. You know if I have all the time in the world and I'm just scrolling. I will sometimes leave if the content becomes. you know, I've Seen It All Before if I've caught up to where I was scrolling last and nothing's new that will sometimes cause me to Abandon the feed and go do something else. | all right, so I'm a little confused about this question because you know, it didn't specify like what seed were talking about here. So I'm just going to keep referring to Instagram and and hope that I am understanding what you're looking for here. So if I find a piece of content and interested in the ways, I would engage with it is open enough to read a full caption. I can also like it to hopefully teach the algorithm show me more of this type of content. I can comment on it to sort of engaged in a conversation. You know the Creator didn't put a link to anything. So if they had I could potentially click on this to link out to follow a link out to view an article of some sort, but this one didn't have that. | So if I feel like I have scrolled enough, so I've got to get back and do something else. Yes, I'm totally comfortable with just closing it down and having that be the end of my session. You know, it's just a nice little mental break. I can jump back into whatever else I was doing very very easily without a lot of downtime between so Yeah, it's it's just a good little mental break and it's not something that distracts me from getting back to work. |

I check the speed. I don't know how many times per day but I limit my time on Twitter to about one hour per day. I have I use the screen time limitations that comes with iOS. I honestly wish I checked it. I wish I wasn't as glued to my phone as I am. I've actually been working to reduce it, but it's still a dominating factor in my life.I think that I would be personally happier if I checked it last but also I know that these products are designed to keep us on them. So I'm aware that I'm not unique with having a problem putting it down. | When I first look at my feet a lot of the content is actually old. I don't follow very many people. I try to limit how many people I follow and of the maybe hundred or 50. I follow probably thirty-five to forty or muted. So I only see the contents produced by vat19 accounts half of which people I know half what you're probably like news or journals or mm magazines that I like and their there's their brand content, but I definitely think that the old content seems that they've already seen before making it worse than last time on it because I've already seen it but I also they they fill that space with with like targeted stuff like on Instagram. You can't just roll back to see things you've previously seen they fill that space with I'm suggested posts and that's even more obnoxious. I think that if I follow more people at be on there more, but also I don't want sponsored stuff. | When I specifically open my Twitter feeds today. The first thing I see is an is a post by the Communist Party of india-marxist about how they are handling the Cove in pandemic and Joe Harkin a place in India, which I'm probably nothing more than that. There's no link. It's just a post about it. The second thing I see is a article by the monthly review about sanctions against Venezuela the US Congress, which is something I definitely probably would investigate further and the third thing I see is a joke post or some quote between associate press and joking about it. I'm gender-neutral bathrooms being like the new gender-neutral bathroom just dropped it. But this appointment when I used to date that's why I followed them to find something that I would stop an investigator released engage with Ivory narrowly constructed. My speeds is to my interest so it's not hard. | When I see an item of Interest, I think it's pretty easy to grasp the message of the item and move on that's partially because the things that show up in my feed they come from a distinct Viewpoint that I understand. So I see an article by the monthly review at The tri-continental Institute. I know what they're about. Generally. I might not know the specifics of the article or the post of their making but I know what they're trying to do and what the mission of that outlet is. So outside of the individuals who I follow on these speeds, but the heart of the sea, which is more like a news service. I think it's pretty easy to grasp of the message and move on and if I decide to investigate them further, it's very easy because I'm getting these from reputable academic journals or music sources so I can literally just click on it and then it will take me to a full article and then if I can probably click run further by archive on the topic through that very source. | So an item of Interest my feed run the first ones to come up which is means it's most recent is an article by the monthly review discussing how specific new sanctions against Venezuela being brought up India Congress are put forth by primarily congressman from Florida districts this I trust this Source quite a bit the monkey review. It's pretty rigorously. Viewed. It's it's very academic and I not only trust that this content because I think it's gone over well and that I trust the authors of the bed also trustee. I'll let itself cuz I think they have a rigorous and principled any logical position and though I know there's a logical position. It's one that I am comfortable with and know how to work with and thus I feel very comfortable taking and reading their materials even if I might disagree with them because | I'm occasional same things for my feed. They're usually one of two things like a meme or a funny post that I want to share with a friend. So I save it and I'd like take screenshot of it or save what favorite if I can send to someone later or it's like an article or a link to something interesting about Earth. I would want to share or review later. So I would save it. I believe the last item. I remember saving that wasn't just like a silly meme was a discussion about the agricultural form in India that spurred the farmers protest cuz I had some friends. I wanted to know about that.So I think I saved that may have been a week ago week ago about then. It's pretty easy to find stuff that I saved that usually my favorites as usual your stuff that I saved that I want to look at later or even easier. I'll screenshot it. And then that's even easier fine. Is it just in my camera roll? | I think it's really easy to share items my feet I'm with people who I'd want to share them with because at least I'm like Twitter and Instagram you can get the little button at the corner of the post and it allows you to share the other things, move for me is all find a Twitter post that I find interesting and I'll be able to copy it and just post it into it into a Discord chat that I'm in like the both like a book group that I remit. Also just the one that's me and my friends. Yeah. It's pretty pretty easy and convenient. I've never ran into problems sharing I'm sharing up content riposte from my feed usually resolves itself in about 10 seconds and me figuring out then hitting the wrong button or something like that. These tech tech companies make sure their apps are very easy to engage with. I guess that's one of the one of the good things about their constant drive for clicks and screen time. | Usually one or two reasons that I'll leave like my feet and turn it off or just walk away or whatever the one of them board. You know, it's East this to me. Let me I've seen everything there is to see on that feed and I'm like, I'm done do something else or I will be putting me in a bad mood. Sometimes I'll be reading post. I'm reading news and I'll and I'll get adjectives and I'll continue to you to get agitated. I'll just get upset when Zelda set it down, even though I am interested in Reading going to have to say because having an adverse effect on my emotional well-being so often I'll be like, oh, well, I'll return to that later, or maybe I'll just not return to it.Yeah, usually the reasons I would leave my feet are by their boredom or agitation. There are entire social media platforms and feeds that I no longer engage with because they had to say that make too much. I stopped using Pixar. Can I stop using right it particularly because they agitated me and I don't want that. | It's a very easy for me to find it to find more information on Gage more deeply with my post or an article in my feed. I'm able to find the controls are easily I think about of the earlier response that it takes less than 10 seconds. I'm able to navigate it quite well, the only problem it gets in my way if that's why not go. Is that often? I am like a journal or a newspaper will link to something and then they'll have the headline in like a little blurb and then you'll click on it and then I'll be behind a paywall that feels frustrating but that's not the controls. That is the publisher being disingenuous trying to get you to engage in then say like actually have to pay for that. No, I I think that there are they've been to been very good job at allowing you to engage because they want maximum engagement. So I've had a very easy time of it. | One side satisfy my needs usually either like as I said earlier, I'm either done. I've seen it all arm agitated. So I found was always feel like I've been on there for too long part. That's just the work ethic of I'm doing this well at work, or I could be doing more productive things, but I I often feel like I spent too much time on their and I am often very conscious of how much time I'm spending on there and how difficult it is for me to stop engaging with news feeds or my social media. There is something ineffable about it where the mental capacity it takes from you it absorbs more than you didn't riches you it takes more than it gives back to you because at the end of the day via consumer is us is not the real consumer-to-consumer fuel buying our data where the product and thus a values be extracted from us in that feels. Very real when I'm engaging on the speed. |
Marissa H. 45 F | Mt. Olive | Illinois UID: 80931 Unassigned Score: 4% Magnitude: | All right, the last beat our interaction with would be probably Facebook. That's the feet. I interact with the most half of my check it it depends some days. I'm super busy so I don't get a chance to really get on there much but maybe once or twice other days I kind of get a little consumed by it more than I would like and don't get as much done as much as I would like to but right now I'm currently checking it a little more than I would like to because we're under a boil order and our town communicates to us about different things that are going on and keeps us posted by updating their Facebook page to let us know when the boil orders over or if it's still going or what's going on with our little tiny community. So that's a huge value to it. But other times it helps me stay in contact with family members that are out of town or friends that are out a little bit so I know what's going on with them. | All right, when you first look at your food feed as a contact new or does it sometimes it's the same content as previous visits. It depends if I don't get on it very often and usually it's new new content that I don't see very often which I prefer. I don't want to see the same things over and over again. It gets a little boring and it does get old and I don't you know, if I continue to do that then I usually definitely don't get on it as much cuz I know I've already been on there a little too much for her day. So I don't want to see the same old things over and over again and if I am then I just put the phone away and don't touch it for a while so that way I'm getting a little bit of a new experience when I do finally get back on there. | All right, what are the first pieces of the first three pieces of content is a my visit will I see something that my friend posted about about Rush Limbaugh passing away. Then I have Victoria's Secret sad and then something I mean that my uncle posted up again. So the first three things the one that would be interesting to me. The most is Victoria Secrets cuz I want to go shopping and I do love to go shopping. So it's not really something that I tend to look at when I get on Facebook, but it does kind of get my chance or sometimes most things that I want to see and stop and investigate are things related to my family or what's going on in my community to or friends to see if there's something I need to comment on if something is an emergency that I need to hold of someone about those things. I usually try to stop morning best to get them shopping. But every once my shopping does get me | All right items of Interest. How is your difficult is it to grass when items message and I usually do pretty easy to understand if you're curious about it. You can either hit you know, you click on the picture click on the link if I want investigate further I can but usually I probably don't I tend to just kind of glanced at things scroll through see if there's anything that's going on with somebody that I want to talk to or that I feel I need to reach out to them. But most things I really don't have S get too much further sometimes our shopping items that I see and I'll click on the link on my do investigate some companies to make sure that they're credible before I send the money. But that's usually pretty easy to do you can just review Google Google review the company and see if it's a scam and I do have I have a tendency to do that because I don't like to be scanned personally. | All right. I have an item interest here. It's from Amazon fashion. So the source is Amazon. So I do trust it. It would be something that I would click on and go further into there are again items that I don't quite Trust on here that I do research before I would even consider buying with them. You see the sales. Sometimes they look just too good to be true. And usually that's because it is too good to be true. So I will pull it up do the reviews check it out check with Better Business Bureau if I have to just to make sure that it's a credible source to consider looking at or investigating further. I also do that with some content before I you know reposted or anything just cuz I don't want to be posting bad information out there. So I don't always trust everything and I do tend to research things. | All right. Do I ever save things I've been looking at for later. Yes. I do. I save them quite often. Most of things that I save are either recipes or items activities to do with my kids and I find it very easy to save items. I do it quite often. I have a huge recipe less going on my my saved items and then tons of activities with my kids every once while if I kind of want to save something I will either send it to my husband, you know in messenger so that way I can refer to it later or I can pull it back up whenever I need to without having to save it all the time. But either option is very easy to do and I do tend to do it a lot. | How is your difficult is it to share items from your newsfeed? Well, it's very easy. You can just tag them in it when you go to re-share it or you can send it to him through Messenger. So either way is very easy. If I want to just tagged something to my husband separately. I'll just send it to him in messenger if there's something that I don't mind sharing with everybody that I think would be interesting and other people would enjoy as well. But I also want to show it then I'll just share it and tag his name in it. So super easy process and I again do that often to | When I'm doing my feet and I decided to leave the content. Usually it's because it's either stuff. I've already seen or I just don't have time. I was looking for something specific. I didn't find it or I did and then I'm done with what I needed to do on there. Or I was at 1 to kind of check on a specific person. Sometimes it's cuz I allowed myself a little about amount of time before I have things that I have to get done. So just kind of like a free break moment to look at something and get out of my own head and just see how other people are doing. | Alright, what's your interesting item on a feed engage more deeply please discuss the extent which able to find and use controls so you can read full articles by clit usually clicking at the bottom of the article and get all the information you can leave comments by just going to the comment option or sharing it by clicking the arrow and sharing to other people or adding it to someone and tagging him in there and sharing it. I find it very easy not complicated at all to do any of these items and I have been able to show my husband how to do him cuz he was not very Facebook oriented before and it's been really easy to teach other people how to do it as well as my mother-in-law she just got on there. So I taught her how to do these things, too. The controls are very very easy to understand. | Think about the point when you've seen enough content to satisfy your visit if you need it depends sometimes have scrolled too far. Sometimes I've been in it for a while and I just feel that I have to get out of it so I can refocus myself other times. I feel like I didn't see enough of the people. I was wanting to see and I've seen too many ads. As to beat the point of why I got on there to kind of check in with people make sure things are okay again with my community trying to make sure that I can find what I'm looking for. You know, usually I try to scroll through cuz there's enough people my community that comment about things so I can find it quickly without having to search so sometimes I feel like my visit has been worthwhile and sometimes I feel like it's just been a complete waste of time. I've more stuff that I've seen, you know and don't want to continue to see it as old content and I just really am overseeing it. So then I feel a little bit let down by my visit. |
Joshua L. 47 M | Belmont | Massachusetts UID: 209399 Unassigned Score: 4% Magnitude: | Good evening. My name is Josh. This is, yeah, the newsfeed I check most often. CNN, this is right now. And I check it several times a day. Check it much less now that Biden is president. And I check it the right amount now. I was checking it a lot more previously and I didn't like the amount that I was checking the newsfeeds. But right now, I'm thinking I'm checking it just right. | Very often when I check the news feed, some of the content is new. Very often, content is the same as previous visits usually because I visit several times a day. So I checked earlier on CNN and it talked about Biden's town hall and that was the header this time as well. In terms of impacting my experience, usually, I'm just checking for new news. And so if I see some of the same headings as I did previously, then I feel like I'm all caught up. Usually, if I see all new headings, I haven't checked it in a while. | So during this visit, I see that there have been a lot of weather-related incidents, especially in Texas. I see about Biden's town hall that he had, and Trump ripping McConnell after his impeachment quibble. So getting the news, new news from today, again, with the weather-related, with Biden's town hall, and Trump ripping McConnell. But I, usually, I don't have to scroll down too far before I see something that I want to stop to check out. So I do like using this feed. | Usually, if I see a piece of content that interests me, it doesn't take me very long to grasp the message and then move on. Usually, if I click on the link, usually, there'd be a brief video or within the first few paragraphs of the article, I really understand the article and I move on. Sometimes, underneath the articles, there'll be links to further reading or other articles like that. So it's pretty easy, not difficult at all, to learn about that topic, that event, and then move on. | So the first item in my feed that I see is an analysis of Chris Cillizza from CNN. And he writes about what mattered most during the president's, President Biden's first town hall since under the new White House. This is on CNN. Chris Cillizza is someone who I enjoy reading his commentary. I consider Chris Cillizza a trusted source for those reasons. | I very often save articles from my feed to look at later. Usually, articles having to do with finances, money, the economy. And usually, I will bookmark it or star it. It's not that hard to return to it. Sometimes I even leave it open to return to it later. So it's very easy for me to find what I've saved. | I don't find it difficult at all to share items from the feed with people like friends and family. I very often share news articles with my wife and or my best friend. That makes it pretty easy to send and share either via text message or email. They'll put the article title as well as the link to the article. So I never have any difficult and it doesn't appear that they have any difficulty sharing news information with me either. | So usually when I'm viewing the news feed, I usually decide to leave the content when I feel like I got the gist of what's going on today, the news and events either locally, nationally, or globally. And sometimes, what'll cause me to leave the feed is if the stories don't interest me or they upset me. But otherwise, I usually leave the feed once I feel like I have a good handle about what's going on in the world. | So once I do find an item of interest in the news feed and I want to read it more deeply or study it more carefully or discuss it with somebody else, I don't feel or find it very difficult to use the controls in order to read the article fully to make comments on it or to share it. Usually, I don't make comments. I usually am the one to share it and-- yeah. So I'm pretty good with technology and social media. And so I don't have any problems reading, sharing, or in the very rare cases that I have comment on an article to do that too. | Oh, very often. Once I've gotten to the point where I feel like I've gotten enough content to satisfy my curiosity for that visit. Usually, I feel like I've scrolled on too long. And sometimes, I wish I would have stopped earlier. It's really difficult for me to stop because usually, I'm looking for an article or I have a fear of missing out and so usually it's very difficult for me. Or very often, I will go down a rabbit hole and I'll be reading articles and then linking to other articles that relate to that topic and I feel like a lot of time has gone by. And sometimes, I'm a little upset at myself for wasting that much time. |

So the website being updated every few minutes with new contents. | So usually, when I find a topic which focus on one of my interests, I will contact the owner of the content either via email or the message. And sometime I even phone him or phone her to investigate the contents more in details. Or sometime the contents might give me some tips how to find out more information about it. But I would prefer the direct contact with the owner of the contents. That's the easy way and the quickest way. | Usually, when I look at the information, usually, the contents [was separated?] to my area of interest: the chemical business and the pharmaceutical industry. I would trust my gut to see whether the contents are really truthful or fake news. But usually, I follow my coworkers and my colleagues, and I trust, globally, what they post. And if I were to have any question, I would contact them immediately and find out more about the subject they posted. | I have a file where I do a screenshot of all the contents I am interested to, and I classify contents from LinkedIn, and I do some subcategories. Category one to do, for example, with chemical business in Europe or chemical business in United States or drug developments. So I categorize the contents so it's easy for me to find out later which subject I'm looking for. And then, I think being organized, it will help to find out what you saved earlier if I don't have time to read it at the time when I was looking at. | I really enjoy when you find some contents which could be beneficial to other people working within the same area of expertise I am. So usually, I share with other colleagues and friends, and I leave some comments and background knowledge about the subject. So I don't think it's very difficult. It's always really enjoyable to share the knowledge with others. | It doesn't bother me if I find a content. It's not really suitable to my own interest. I wouldn't mind to leave it. And sometime, I might put some comments suggesting to the owner of the feed it's not really appropriate to post it. Usually, I could find some publication could be suitable for the other social media, not for this one because LinkedIn is really professionally driven. It's not socially driven. That's my only view. And I think some of my colleagues and co-worker may be-- share with me the same thinking. | Found a contents was really connected to some of the area of research I'm involved in, I would keep it. I will read it. I will investigate it. I will keep it for future reference. And if really very close to what I'm doing right now, so I would contact the owner of the article and discuss with them the exact detail what is mentioning. Usually, I am very keen on learning new information, especially in the area of chemical development and the research on new drugs. | Mind to come back to the same article if I found something very interesting. So I would-- it's very enjoyable to come back and revisit the feed. And sometime usually, I keep it in a special file to revisit in the future, for future reference. As I mentioned before, I will also share it with others for general benefit. So no problem whatsoever to go back and revisit the same contents for future reference. Thank you. |

So I'll show you this is my Instagram go on the explore page. Let me go and I will usually a picture like this. I will usually pick like certain thing that interests me. Let's say this one and then I will scroll down like that and just keep growing like that. How often do I check you know this feed? I would say that every day every day. I check it just to he'll look at it. See what's new. Do I wish I checked it last probably probably check it lost cuz I don't want to be so dependent on it. I don't I don't really want to be so dependent on it. | When I look at my feet on Channel 8 new information, sometimes I'll see different colors like older post specially the fee doesn't get off dated off. And so for example, there's a basketball Channel that I that I read and the feed gets updated pretty pretty often. But sometimes will say in the offseason doesn't really get updated to all see the same information over and over. I think it impact my experience that makes me want to go out and see new content of for example, I'll go out. And another thing that I like to do was investing. So I'll go to another beat for investing in all.Watch that Beetle keep looking at that feed and I think that it'll up. Sure is piqued my interest more than the one feat that doesn't host barrier. | So from that feed that I was showing on the first video. The first of three pieces of content one was a post explaining a quote that one of the NBA players said another one was the score of the game. And then the third one was a video of a highlight of a a big game that was just played and I think it meets my goals because I'm there to read a book to learn more about NBA news that's going on about just in general on a broad stroke. Usually I do look for a team that I like the Lakers and I'll usually scroll down until I see something about the Lakers or the or the players on the Lakers said anything. | How easy or difficult it is? I think it's pretty easy to figure out the message of the content. It'll usually usually the post self shows it but if not, then I can read the caption. Usually the caption and The Meta tags order with it lead weight understand what the what the post is about. If I decide to investigate a post sometimes the soul happen when I'm looking at these regarding public basketball products, for example, like jerseys or shoes or other accessories. It's pretty pretty easy because there's like a link to it and in that link it, um,Leads me to a store or something that I can decide whether I want to purchase the product. | So one thing one item of interest in my feet and I like is this video by Sports Center? Carriage Hills Michael Jordan and his 2003 season. I trust the content a lot sportscenter's pretty reputable. Account with the blue check mark next to it. It has over 200 even if that didn't make me trust them the brand recognition on they have over 250,000 like usually posts with that many likes are pretty trustful at always and in those cases the ones that I don't trust them. It's usually very good reason why I like I know a lot about that. | Asia sometimes I do look at Heights safety things to look at my look at them later for my feed on my way to the last thing that I looked that I saved was there was a video of a couple of basketball moves to use and I'm interested in basketball and I play basketball so I saved it. So when I go on court next time I can pull it out look at it and practice those moves. It's easy to find what I saved because I can just the process a little bit little bit tedious. I have to go to my thing my my page then I have to click on the side and then click on Saved after that. But after that I can pretty much find what I need on my state. | I think it's pretty easy to share items from my feet to people who are important to me and that might enjoy the content. For example, I send it to my friends. I think it's easier to do that because it links up with Snapchat which I use and then in other cases it's likes up with Instagram, which is also what I used to share two friends on both Snapchat Instagram or my primary sources of communication with friends. I think they enjoy the content because like me, they enjoy basketball, but I think it's easy to share those post for my feet and I think it's good for them to see it and I think they enjoy it. | Let's say again what I would usually if I am to leave the study. Let's say I want to I see that this is a consecutive double-digit games usually be information on the post. So it's like oh, okay. I will leave the leave the feed by going to my homepage and then going on Google for example, you know, that's how I would leave the page usually and I would go on Google to research in this case to research the last game that has player had and the weather it matches the information here. So sometimes it's like fact-checking and if I'm just disinterested maybe I keep scrolling and how I'm really really disinterested anymore. I'll just go back to another feed. | So I would say that-- I'll show you here. This is one article, item of interest, in my feed. The extent of which I can find and use controls to interact deeper, I'd say, is pretty easy. So the comment button is here. Let's say I wanted to comment on it. I can scroll down, I can scroll down, type a comment. If I want to like something, I can click Like, like that, react with the buttons over here, the emojis. I would say that it's pretty easy to engage deeper with this content. You have the Like button here, Comment, Share, Save, Follow, and other options here. I would say it's pretty easy to do it and that it satisfies my goals. | I would say at a if I've seen enough content, I think I'll usually know that I scrolled scrolled too long when the content starts becoming older on middle say on the bottom here, but they February 9th. I'll say all of its kind of oil is 2 weeks old and then I'd say all on pretty pretty a long time that I've been scrolling for and I think it's a little bit hard for me to sort of stopped my feed visit and return but once I see this sort of information and specially if I see ads that are like Akira likeYou can't really see it. But it says invest in Virtual learning and then I think learning going to be doing something else. So then I'll stop I'd say that it's sort of medium difficult for me to stop my feet visit and return to what I've been. |
Matthew C. 49 M | Clovis | California UID: 285643 Unassigned Score: 3% Magnitude: | So this is my Facebook feed I checked this multiple times a day on my phone. This is the desktop view. I very rarely checking on Destiny once a week at most because I'm able to do it on my phone. Sometimes I think I check it a little too often. I think I could check it a little less but honestly anymore if I just opened it up and I look through the notifications that tends to be enough for me instead of having to scroll down and look through everything that's in it.I'll look for specific people who I know we're posting on a regular basis and I might check some stories from time to time. So people that I am looking for specifically like this guy who's a percussion designer that I like to follow. So I'll check his stuff more than anything rather than going through and checking the entire feed. | Okay. So looking at my feed the question is how much of it is new and how much of it is old what I do notices that I will get the first thing that pops up in my feed here, maybe something that I've already commented on as opposed to completely brand new news that can be convenient to an extent because it saves me the trouble of having to go to Notifications or what not but it does seem all the times when I get something here that I've already seen before and there's nothing actually brand new to it. So that that's kind of is the stories up here are always brand new. I've never seen reruns up there. Of course. I can always go to the notifications to get the real new stuff. That's again. That's usually what I end up doing. If I really want to know the new stuff. I just had up here and go for it that tends to be the best way for me to go. | Okay, as I'm going through my feed. First three things that come up this post from one of my friends Josh long is something that I would probably check out. So that's quick and nice. That's an ad not interested. Another post not interested. Not that I don't love these people but I might stop and check out these folks cuz we're closer to them. That's a nice shirt Church rata Rock on. I might stop to that not digging the adds another one from Josh long. That's cool. So really probably within the first five or six items. I saw three that made me stop and investigate largely because their people I know and would wanted to check out like that's really so and to be honest having a picture of my good | All right. As I'm scrolling through my feed, if I find something that interests me such as my good friend Churchill here in his beautiful Fat Tuesday coat, I can generally stop. I can read the headline and see what's going on, and if there's something more I want to read, I can dig into it pretty easily. At least as far as anyone else leaves additional content. Now I know that there are other posts where there'll be something-- let's scroll back up to the top here. Here, looking at Josh Long's post, I can go through and see the little bit of stuff that's here, and if I really want to know more, I can click to see more and get more information. So it seems pretty easy in that regard. I can't say that I've ever had a time where I've not been able to get more information on something in this setting. It seems to work pretty well for me. | So here is an item that came up in my feed that interests me from my friend Crystal this article from nature.com about the first sun-dimming experience will test a way to cool earth. Okay. So it is not this that makes me trust the content, it's this. For me, I'm looking for the stuff from the people I know and looking at what they're checking. That's an indication for me that it's something I want to check out. That's where the trust is. The trust comes from the person who forwards it to me or sends it to me or posts it to their feed so it ends up in mine or what have you. Then, from there I'll go through and do the due diligence and check out the source and see how the story goes from there. But the thing that brings the trust is the person who posts it. | Okay. The last thing I remember saving was a video. And to get there, I have to go into my video section, and then I have to go through and search the videos that I wanted to see. Now, I don't know how to do that in desktop, so right now it's incredibly difficult. On my phone I can call it up with some ease, but it took me a while to figure out how to do it myself. This is, oh, here, so I can just go over here to save the videos. Cool. So thankfully, if there was something close enough, I could look for and look it up and check it out later. That's cool. So I guess, the big thing was, as long as it's verily intuitive, it's pretty easy. Otherwise, I'm going to go and probably have to look something up online for more directions and things like that. | Okay. So I'm in my feed and I find something I want to share. Facebook makes that pretty easy. I just hit the Share button and then I can share it to my news feed or to all my friends. Usually, what I'll do is, I'll share it to Messenger and I'll send-- or I'll do send in Messenger, if you will, and I'll just send that to the people I know who would be interested in this specifically. That's typically the way I do it. This part's been very easy. But I have to say, Facebook has made this somewhat more difficult as of late because there are some things it seems that Facebook doesn't want to share. There are things that I want to send to people that Facebook says-- it won't send them. Certain links, if I try and send them in Messenger, they fail to send for some reason. And it seems to be politically oriented, and that's not cool. | Okay. So what causes me to leave the feed? To be honest, seconds. If I start to scroll down through a feed and I don't see something that really catches my attention and is tailor-made for me, then I'm out. I'll leave. Now, granted, there are some people who would go through and check all their friends and see how everyone was doing. I don't. I come up here, I check my notifications to see if there's anything going on and I might scroll down the feed to see if there's anything in the first two or three entries that catch my eye but if it's not there I'm out. I'm done. Because I have so many friends and they are so diverse there aren't as many entries that interest me as maybe there once was. | Okay. So I found something of interest in my feed. If I want to check it out, I go to it, I click on it, I get to watch it. Let's see what happens if I click on it. Opens up in a new tab. Boom, there it is. I can watch the video. Well, that was easy. That's pretty quick. I really have no complaints there. It seems to be that's something easy. The problem is though there are some times where someone will post something and the attachment or the link will be removed or whatever. That's a little frustrating when I can't get to it very easily, especially, again, when it's politically motivated, which seems to be happening a lot more on Facebook nowadays. But whatever. In this case, [inaudible], that was easy. | If I'm done doing something in my feed or if I need to take a break and walk away and come back to it later, I either need to remember who it is that posted it originally or it's gone forever. That's just it. I do not feel confident that if I see something here, I will be able to find it again. It just disappears in the list of things. So I try not to tie myself to my feed in that regard. I try to tie myself to the people I follow, and I do it by person rather than scrolling through the entire feed. That's the only way I can do it. |
Kristin B. 35 F | Henrico | Virginia UID: 272789 Unassigned Score: 7% Magnitude: | Hello, my name is Kristen Bell, and I am talking about feeds so the last feed that I interacted with his Instagram. I have an Instagram and Facebook for business through Instagram and Facebook. So I interact with those often for my business cuz it's big for marketing promotion fundraising all that stuff. I do not wish I checked it more often cuz I don't really have a problem. I don't check it really in last time checking for a purpose Instagram. I tend to go in there a little bit more just to kill time. But Facebook, I don't do that very often. I don't really get on Instagram very much. Is it for business and it's very useful for that and I forgot to put the rest of the questions, but I think that was it Instagram and Facebook are probably prefer Instagram more just cuz it's easier to find stuff in her teens me. Thank you. | So I tend to see new content not I don't really repeat the content when I want Instagram on Facebook. I do run into a lot of things that I see that I see twice, which I don't really mind didn't like bother me or frustrate me, but I'd rather see new stuff but Instagram is set up in a way that it did its more dependent on when it's uploaded and that's what you see is my impression and there's so much more content on Instagram because I follow in it interacts with more Brandon were people on Instagram. So Facebook is more repetitive Instagram is not it doesn't really matter to me doesn't really affect my experience because I really care how to scroll past it. | The first thing that I see when I go to my Instagram or the stories of the very top and then I tend to see more recent posts and that affects how far is frogs from seeing recent and relevant things and I'll scroll down a little bit to see more of them and send out a fax but if I see repeat material that never seen before and I'm more likely to lose interest in stop scrolling and the stories on Instagram, I like to see those at the top because they're interesting and the recent and they are just short little movies videos for me. | So when I see things that interest me in my feed, it's easy for me to look at them. I'm using Facebook and Instagram as examples. Facebook is heazy cuz it opens in a different browser and I can explore it and you know, keep my keep where I am in my Facebook page of my Facebook Tab and then the new thing so I can explore as much as I want to and Instagram's a little bit more difficult just because the act like if you click on a link like for example if I see an ad for something in Amazon, so I click on it like the shop now and it brings up a little screen within the app, so I can't really save it unless I press share and send it to get the URL whatever else would come. It just takes an extra couple steps to to get information.Via Instagram and bring my feed on Instagram about basic. It's good because it opens in different screen. | If I see a fact or a political post or anything, but like a in my opinion, article, I'm kind of post then I will want to verify it because people are very biased and they're also some of my friends are very dumb and they they pose a lot of incorrect information there. If I see a product advertisement or post better product product or review or something, then I'll believe it cuz there's really no reason to lie about that. So fact political verify product or just like an anecdote or something then I'll believe it because I don't really have reason not to | So my way of saving stuff to look at later is to either open a new tab in a new tab or to book Market, but I usually open it open it in a new tab so I can have time to look at it later and I can from there. I can either look into it fully or I can book Market, but it's easy for me. It's difficult Instagram because it doesn't Instagram for example of post doesn't bring if you click on it doesn't bring up a new post, but you have to look at it through the Instagram app. So I can't use the app at all unless I until I get done with that page or unless I send myself that URL but that's something I do fairly often is if I just don't have time to read something fully than I just look at it later and it's helpful. | Sharing is very easy. And I do it often weather is something that's funny like a memer a gif or something or it's like an important article. That won't people see an important post whatever on Instagram I can just either direct message anymore. I can tag them in the comments. I guess same with Facebook. I usually end up pushing the share button and District messaging it to them. But you know, I have also use it in the comments do to make sure people see. | So I would leave a feed when I feel like I've you know, read the whole thing or gotten all the information. I need from it Shred-it with the right people and I would either leave it because I'm done with it or I would go plywood book market and leave it so I can come back to it later. But I kind of just don't leave until I don't need the information you more. I don't need to access it and that's pretty solid or I'm just like get bored of it for some cases for some content. | I've never had a problem figuring out how to engage with with things on my feed whether that's read. It fully go to the website shop or share it and I never had a problem just cuz I'm a millennial and I understand all the controls that stuff. It's pretty it's pretty easy understand and I'm and it really the word that I just got to figure it out really fast dizzy. | So I have friends who need to go on like Facebook like not going to knock on social media for you know, 30 days for lunch or something. But I've never had a problem with stopping scrolling or never had a problem with like wasting a lot of time on social media most because I don't really think it's that interesting. There's not really that much stuff that interests me on there. I don't really care that much about other people's lives and I'm not really able to waste time on the Internet or waste time watching TV just cuz I just run out of things to do and I just get bored. So I've never had a problem stopping scrolling to my feed. Sometimes. I just realized that I've scrolled so far that I'm just bored. So I just sign off. That hard for me and I don't really feel like I haven't scrolled enough because that's like I haven't wasted enough time. I don't ever feel that way. |
Suvidha S. 56 F | White Plains | New York UID: 46505 Unassigned Score: 5% Magnitude: | Okay. So the last feed that I actually interacted with was probably maybe 15 minutes ago and it was with Facebook. So I'm going to show you that feed. I'm having trouble with cameras offense. I'm just going to bring it out here. Just show you that hopefully you getting all of that in there. Hopefully you got all that. That's my on my laptop there. That's my Facebook feed. So that's the last one I interacted with and about in terms of how often I give independent like right now. I am constantly on Facebook. It's right source of news knowledge friendships all that kind of stuff. Do I wish I was on it last hell. Yes. I wish I was out active or doing other things and less on my social media and on my thing, but Facebook is the one I use most daily probably it's embarrassing to say, but maybe I don't know 6 7 hours a day. But yeah, I wish I could use less of it, but that was the last feed and probably after I get off the survey. I'll go on it again. | Okay, so when I look at my contact for Facebook, usually it refreshes each time I'm looking at it. I do see new content each and every time. I see all the different news stories and what my friends are posting, and they're new each time. In terms of any content that's old that is recurring, I usually see the ads that keep coming up over and over again that are old, and sometimes they get so monotonous that I have to actually go in and go okay, I don't want to see this one anymore because I've seen it so many times. But in terms of the news feed and what I'm seeing from news media outlets and from my friends, it gets refreshed every time. There's always a new story right at the top of my feed. | On this one sitting right now. I'm looking at my laptop here. The first few things I see are actually relevant to me. I don't have to scroll down very very far. But the first two things I see are I'm part of this group that sells no work product Norwex products. So that's of interest to me. And then I'm scrolling down here again. And then after that I see a open mommy's group. I'm proud of Anoka mommy's chat and I'm there. There's a couple of questions about looks like Netflix and you to that would be of interest to me. And then the third thing I see him. I said the next I see him. I feed there's no play soccer club my daughter plays for the octopeel soccer club. And so any news relevant to her soccer career and opening up and playing again. I'm passing a decided at the scroll down very very far. The first three items were actually three things that I would stop and I would read and I would take interest in so those are the first three things that popped up when I just open this up, And they're irrelevant to me. I didn't have to go very far. | So if I seen I don't have interest on my seed, it doesn't take me very long to figure out if I'm interested or not because I look at the headline a look at the graphic and it is something that catches me visually, it's actually quite not it's not very hard to go and investigate the peace further. I just click on it and it'll take me to the story of the article or what not if it's a friend's to feed and there's a story or article to it. I look at the comments. So again, if something is sticks out is going to Grass me. It's quite easy to investigate further. I hope I answer the question most of the question at this time. But again, I guess the question was something interests you how hard is it to get more information? It's very easy. All these Facebook on links or posts are very easy to investigate further. You just simply click on it and you will get more information knowledge, but it all depends on how I grasped is something is of interest to me. It'll be the headline and the graphic and then I will click on it and delve further. So it's not a hard task. | Okay, so I'm looking at an item I hear on my feet. It's called a I was just sort of look at if you can see it there. It looks like it's a bird. It's a bird lover isn't showing a whole bunch of bird seed and bird houses which is fascinating. We love to do that in our backyard and in terms of disgusting disgusting and I trust this because I do know what Tara's Tara's a local greenhouse nursery of ours locally. I do follow them. So anything that they post I know is trustworthy cuz it's coming from the pictures are coming from their actual store. I know do you know the people that work there and the posters though. It's a credible local site. So I trusted wholeheartedly so whatever they post and say I trust and I can verify by going into the greenhouse nursery to corroborate that what they post. It is actually true. So if they're definitely trustworthy | I love this question. Do I ever say things for my feet? I always say things my feet. So if it's an article that's longer and I want to really read it. I'll say which we later if they're recipe I'll save it if I to try later so I have constantly things they've done my feed and if I look at it, I'm just looking at it here. The last thing I saved on my seed as part of a question. Yes was the u.s. Whale entanglement responsible one Pacific Islands training. So my daughter I asked you to sit down I'll later on today and take a level 1 training for whale entanglement so I needed to I needed that link. So that's the last thing I actually save but I have lots of things saved. I have a high school choices for post-secondary Education Taylor Swift two versions of Love Story compared. I've got the lease recipe for chicken meatball soup. So I am constantly I've sat save feature on Facebook is a lifesaver. I save almost everything of interest to me. I'm so getting the last thing I'd saved was the entanglement responsible and I will be using it later. | Okay. So sharing items with people from my feed that I want to share, it's really quite easy. I do it a lot, actually, and I do it a number of ways from my feed. Either I'll tag them in a specific post so they'll get a notification and come right down to that post and they'll see it or I will hit the share button and I will send it via their Messenger account or text or I'll share it via WhatsApp. So I do share quite frequently with my friends and family of things that are interest to me. And Facebook makes it very, very easy to do so. Like I said, a variety of ways, either tagging a person, using the share icon, and then sharing it via WhatsApp or via Messenger. And also I can copy the link and then I can share it in other different messaging formats. So, yeah, sharing is quite easy and I do it quite often. | Okay, so I'm going to look at a feed or post and I decide to leave a Content a couple of reasons. Why probably the article or something grab me it was interested. I clicked further investigate, but then it becomes boring talk to me or irrelevant or it could be fake news or it's not credible. Those are items. Why would leave a seed or sometimes I find in the stage of social media? We need things to be so compacted and get our attention quickly that if something is too long again, I'm a save it for later when I have time, but I'm a bit too long. I just won't bother watching it or reading it. So their number of factors when it comes into play. Is this something to send trust me. I will leave it right away against them is a credible over right away if it's spam if it's fake I'll leave it right away. And yeah, so there are have been lots of times where I put on something looks interesting and I veered away from it. So those would be my reasons. | So once I find something that is really of interest in me, and I'm engaging with the article is feet or the post I do so I do so wholeheartedly the first thing I probably do is hit the like button or the wow button or one of those that I would go into the comments and I would start making a comment on the feet or the article and if I really feel passionate about it, I'll share it. I'll share on my own poster feed or share my friends, but I'm definitely if something is going to grab my attention and require me to interact I will interact wholeheartedly on all levels commenting for sure and then people were at the article itself has further comments or reviews that I can write. I will go ahead and do those two. I feel passionately about an issue. So yeah, if something is there that is of interest to me and I want a dialogue I will do so hard of using those forms. | That's when I sit down to look at a feed and a schooling's going so I can point at which I probably stop or think I've had enough is probably the point at which I start to see a repetitive of old. This is what I saw my last visit. So not usually takes about 10 15 20 minutes. Maybe Max. I'm a go through and I will see all the new stuff and I'll read it and then I'll school school school and then eventually come to this point where I like, oh, it's already seen this or I read that this is repetitive and I and I've already seen that part of my feed and that's at that point where I'll be like, okay, I've been on and off. I may just go back up the top and refresh try to get a little more squeeze out a little bit more time of some new stuff. But usually that's a good 10-15 20-minute process where and then I'll go okay time to turn it off and then I'm all set it aside. Hopefully it won't go back to it after another 15-20 minutes, but given this pandemic we're doing that a lot more. But if I have things to do like cooking or cleaning or picking up the kids are doing something like that. I'll end up doing that. But yeah. |

I've been looking at just a lot of food and there's a lot of sneakers on here. I'm like a sneakerhead a heart, but I do have the money for all the sneakers, but I definitely just click and then I start. I start just browsing different sneakers Air Jordans. I definitely wish I checked it was cuz it's definitely distraction and it's not anything important at all. Copley don't check it the right amount. I definitely jacket too much but it's a nice little Escape is definitely escapism and you know what? There's no harm in looking at Sneakers now looking at porn. | You guys so when I first look at the feed, I would say that it's from the previous visit. But then once I hit refresh it obviously pulls up new stuff. I see one thing at a pain in the ass sometimes on Instagram is when you oppose us something from the old feed and then you find something that you like and as you go to click it if in refreshes to the top and getting whatever you're looking for, you just never find it again. It's just gone through. I mean you have to search for it.So like so I just opened up and there's I don't know. What is this complex in the fish tank. Then I can just refresh right? And then now I'm at this refers to the top. What is good news? I'm glad that there's always new stuff magazine. If you're coming back into looking at the same stuff you pretty lame. | All right, so I'm going to refresh. And first content is ball is life watching some. Street Hooper, I guess II content is I guess I ever tiesman for something cold splice. It looks like audio editing reply to me. But whatever in The Surge of sneakers for the It online store, Oregon City restore beat they always have kind of like trendy kind of sneakers and stuff. I will look unto the feed. Yeah, I mean I watch a lot of sports on Instagram. So a lot of basketball highlights for sure. They look a lot of sneakers and I guess I was subscribed to a decent amount of music channels. So I would assume that's why I'm being targeted with this ad. How far down do you want to send me one? | Hey guys. So once I see something of interest is Prairie that he's very easy to grasp what it is a lot of pictures on Instagram and then captions and then you can obviously I want to go see further I can go on to their will find the link on their page and then go to their actual site and see what's up. So is her easy so say I don't even know if there will be a link fighting is Bleacher Report. This is talking about the All-Star Game in the NBA from last year. So I click on Bleacher Report and then And click on the link. right I guess because it's Bleacher Report. He took me to the bleacher report app, which actually don't have so we're not going to do that. So I'm going to click on the link here. I guess there is no further. | Alright, so we're looking for an item of Interest. All right. Well, the first thing that popped up was all things comedy comedians. I think it's Kelsey cook. Be funny. Yep, I wouldn't trust it is just it's a comedy site run by comedians. So yeah, I trust him. I trust them for putting up funny content. So I might. When you go into their home listen to it for a little bit. haha Then I might go to their page and I might scroll and sort of see. What else Yonkers? Chris Farley download | Hey, guys. So talking about if I save anything, obviously, it's very easy. You just hit this little button down here. I don't do it a lot because I feel like content churns so much in social media that even if I save something, I don't know if I ever remember to go check it to come back to it. I think if I don't sort of share the link in the moment or bring it to some other place outside of, say, Instagram, then I'm just never going to check it again because usually what am I finding on Instagram that needs to be saved to be revisited so much? That's not what the platform is really meant for in my mind. Shopping might be the only time in which case I'll probably navigate some link, and then I'll save the website or the link for the actual product somewhere else. | Hey guys, so sharing content if you're sharing content from Instagram on Instagram just for somebody else. It's very easy. You just share it, you know, but what I hate about trying to share links from Instagram onto like until I can messenger it just gives you like the Instagram blank. You don't get like the make a preview at a window. So you don't quite know we are looking at it. Look Shady. Sometimes people can access it if they're on their laptop and they don't have like who didn't like accessing Instagram on your laptop to barely. Right. But yeah, it's it's fine, but it's not optimal like it would be great if you could. Sing what happens if hear you just share it easy to share the people or added to your story. But if you want to go outside, you have to copy the link you have to go. | I mean, I think what causes me to leave the feed is time. You get a sense when you know you've been digging around on this too much and you haven't been doing your job or whatever is more pertinent than looking at the Hot Ones page on your Instagram, watching celebrities eat hot chicken wings, and tear up, and cry. I think if I just got bored, there is definitely feed fatigue where you're just scrolling at the same shit. I'm just looking at all these hype shoes. I'm just like, "I'm not buying any of these shoes." At some point, then they're not even appealing anymore. I think at some point, you're just mindlessly scrolling because you're avoiding, I don't know, responsibility. It's fine. This could be an activity. But I think you should limit your social media in any given time to maybe like 10 minutes unless you have an actual task. | Okay, so scrolling the feed I found an LA Times article that interest me about Kobe. So I'm going to read more about it cheer. then So there's more to link in our bio, so I'm going to go. Tinder bio, we're going to go to the link. Call you son of a bitch. Did I get the firewall but here's the article. Let me see if I can actually read it. No pie Kristen too soon. I can read it. Sorry Allie X navigated. Navigate to their page on the LA Times website, I'm able to read the article. | Yeah, I think I don't know. Maybe you scroll for like 10 minutes. Maybe you refreshed once and then give it another scroll for another five. I try to limit. I think 15 minute Max social media Instagram is preferable. I think inevitably you wind up scrolling too much and you wind up going down rabbit holes play point. Once you click on something and then there's similar content. I can find myself watching basketball highlights for like a half hour. But I think I'm pretty good at being able to stop the visit and kind of look up you like oh shit. I was doing this work and that I have to keep doing a problem. It's definitely addicted to shit. Just there's always something new right and it's all your interest in one place. What's not to like |
Dawson L. 26 M | Gainesville | Florida UID: 284286 Unassigned Score: 8% Magnitude: | Hi, everyone. So basically, the last feed I checked was on Flipboard. I love Flipboard news because you can filter out by what categories you're interested in. I'm a big advertiser on Facebook, so actually, here, I have the business page open. And the one that brought my attention was this one right here, was, "Facebook Developing Android-Based Smartwatch," because I just want to see now-- it's really interesting to me how Facebook now competes with Apple because Apple's really interfering with a lot of small-business advertising on Facebook. I check this feed pretty often, when I'm not working on e-commerce business, in keeping up with the news. I don't really wish I checked it less. I think I check it the right amount just because, when I'm not working, I'm checking the news in my free time, especially business-relatedwise and what's going on in the business world, to keep up with my industry that I'm in, in the e-commerce world, in the beauty niche, home industry niche, vaccine niche. It's very broad. So that's how I keep up with all the. | Hey, guys. Hey, guys. So basically, when I look at my feeds, I use Apple News for globally and the news worldwide what's going on that's kind of broad and generic. And I use Flipboard for more super hyper-specific things like things that I follow like business, entertainment, fashion, TV, coronavirus, real estate investments, things like that, e-commerce industry, Facebook, stuff like that. So it's always new content. Every day, it refreshes because the world is so fast, and it's always evolving, always new things happening, so like today, Facebook plans to develop a smartwatch to compete with Apple because a lot of things have been going on. Or the coronavirus numbers, they plan to have a heard immunity by June. There's always new things, and it really helps my experience when I look at the news because I probably look at it, spend about two hours a day in my free time in the morning and when I go to bed at night. And this really helps me kind of gauge my mind, and it's nice because it's always refreshing, so it's not like I'm ever re-reading or visitng old news. It's always nice, new, ever-evolving news, so. | Hey. So for the first three items, piece of content I see in my feed for Apple News, it's usually right now what's happening globally, so anything from the coronavirus to Trump and Biden, what's going on there, and investments because the market's going crazy. For Flipboard, that's more of where it curates everything for me, and I follow certain categories that interest me like business, entertainment, TV, investments, real estate, sports, news like that. So the first three items I could see could be anywhere from Brady just winning the Superbowl to different trades, or free agency for business, Facebook, Robinhood stuff that's going on. And then how far do I scroll down before I see something I want to stop investigating? It's all interested. The reason I did Flipboard is because it's stuff I have interest in, so it curates and it tailors it to my interest, so everything I'm interested in, and that's when I stop investigate every single I feed I see. And Apple News, it's globally, so everything that's interesting me in there, so I don't have to stop and wait. | Hey, guys. So it's super easy, once you find an item of interest, it's super easy to grasp the message of the item and move on. So let's say I go to business here, all the feeds here, all the things I follow. So I select business and let's say this interests me, the skills you need to be successful in [inaudible] environment. I click it, and I'm able to scroll down and read about it. And the moment I don't want to do that anymore, I just hit this or here, hit the back button. And I hit the back button again. And yeah, so super easy and you can just go back to all the items you follow, all the different newsfeeds you follow, and just go through that process. So super easy to investigate, read more about it, and then go back to the main page to go through your other newsfeeds. And it's separated out in subheadings, categories, and super easy. | So for example, an item of interest in my feed would be The Spectacular Fall of the Lincoln Project. And you can see it's by the New Republic. That's the source. And typically, because I've been a news junkie for so long, I know about all these publishers. But I would definitely trust the content simply because I know about it, or if you don't and you're unsure, you could actually click on the News Republic here, and you can read about them. And you can read about how many followers they have, what people are saying, the different stories they have, and just really read about it. So what I like to do is just take in as many articles as I can that interest me and kind of cross-reference different similar stories that have came out about the same thing and just kind of gather as much information possible. | So yes, I do save things from my feed to look at later, but it's in very rare moments that I do so, things that are super important to me. So recently, the last time I saved was the Buccaneers' GM apparently may have a Tom Brady successor in mind, and he's already on the roster. So that really interests me because it's like, "Oh, after Tom Brady, who's next?" So what I usually do is I usually copy the link and I have a notes page in my phone where, because, again, I'm not doing this ever so often, but when I do, I have a notes page in my phone that's separated out by the categories I follow like business travel, lifestyle, entertainment, things like that, and I'll go and paste that link to the news article. So if I ever go back, it's labeled and I can hit what's important to go back to later. So I actually don't do it on the interface of the app. I do it in notes because that is what works best for me, but you can save it in the app. You can create your own magazine or just like the post and you can go back to your liked posts. | So on Flipboard, that's where I typically share items with people that are important to me. And it's actually very easy. So let's say I'll pull up an article of this guy, this 34-year-old start-up app by Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, blah, blah, blah. So my friend's actually creating a start-up and he would be interested in this. He's a big follower of start-ups, and news, and these two people. So it's super easy. All you do, oops, all you do is you go to this little, you go to that little circle, that three-dot circle, you click that. And then this will pop up. And you just hit share. You just hit share. And then it gives me the options. So I would text it to him. And there's the message. So you just text it to him and you share it that way. So, again, yeah, you just hit the little three dots. It's shared and text it to whoever. It's super, super easy and quick. And I love that. | So for me, when viewing a feed, there's actually three reasons I decide to leave the content and I'll tell you why. First reason being, if I've simply just read enough and gotten enough out of it and I don't need to ready anymore, I understand everything, it's just extra verbiage that they're including in the article and I already understand it, that's one reason. Second reason is I like reading articles where it's the devil's advocate for certain debates or something like that, which, in the business world which I follow, and entertainment and global news, there's a lot of playing sides. I don't like that. So I will leave the article if I feel like someone's playing a side and not being the devil's advocate. I'll find a better article. The third reason would be, if someone important in my family or something's calling, so that's completely external. So those are basically the three reasons, what will cause me to potentially leave a feed that I'm reading about that interests me. | So for me, once I find an item of interest in my feed I want to engage more, this is basically what I do. This is my personal what I like best. So this article right here, like I said before, it interests me. I'd click on it, right? I would be reading it. I'd read the whole article, go through it, stuff like that. So this is the part where I dive even deeper. So these parts that are highlighted in the article that are super important because that's what-- those bullet points that are highlighted are what's super important relate to the article. And you could see those are down all throughout the article, all that stuff. So what I do is I actually like to click on those and read more about that, so I understand it better and dive deeper into it if it really interests me. And then I can go back to reading the article through it. And then at the end, it'll have relatable articles that it suggests about Bill Gates, similar topics, and then I will keep doing that process, and that satisfies. | So again, when I'm satisfied with enough content. I usually start the news in the morning when my day begins to start my mind, to get my head going. And then when I go to bed and I'm winding down. So for me, it's more of that I feel I've scrolled enough. So it's more of like I've read enough news of what I'm interested in, whether it's the business category, entertainment category. I go through categories, read a little about it. And it's not really that I haven't seen enough or it's too much information I can't handle. It's just more like I've read enough. I'm winding down. I'll go to bed. And then in the morning I usually set my limit to 30 or 45 minutes. And I'll go through the different categories of what interest me. So my ability to stop my feed visit and return to what I was doing and get on with my day is super easy, because I set a limit for myself and kind of really know when I've read enough for today and know that I'll get back to it later. And I'm doing it every day consistently. So it's not a big deal. So it's super easy for me to do that. |
